Something is terribly wrong with the realbounce software. I’ve seen it a few times in the last couple of days. The ball is clearly not touching the line and bounces a few centimetres behind it, but the software calls the ball in. I think it’s caused by the shadow under the ball from the overhead lights that is fooling the software. I think the umpire should be allowed to overrule the software interpretation by looking at the slow motion footage.

Alcaraz gonna have to pull out some hudini trick to get out alive from this one, too little time on this court, goffin much more comfortable

Up a set and a break, Goffin was feeling it but he’s in a 15-40 hole.
An UE again for Alcaraz and a very solid 30-40 point and it’s deuce. Alcaraz uses nice touch to get a 3rd BP. Goffin saves it again. A line BH DTL earns game point for Go-Go and Alcaraz errors again. 3-0.

Unless something major happens, we won't get to see Djokovic vs Alcaraz at Astana Open.. Goffin leads 5:1 and serving for the match..

Good match from goffin, everytime carlos comes from a competitive break he struggles

Carlie 48% first serve won
David 73% !

Those are beatdown stats. I would be surprised those stats equate to only a one-break advantage in each set. The more errors/less winners column rivals the Alcaraz “magic trick” of 70 plus % 1st serves in earning less than 50% points won.
Yeah, when a player hit more winners usually they hit more errors, but not in this match!

Before today, nobody younger than Alcaratz (b. May 2003) had ever won a match at ATP level. Which in itself is pretty concerning, but that's another story... Unsurprisingly, it was Luca Nardi (b. August 2003) who broke the spell with his 1R win over Shevchenko in Astana, though the real masterpiece was the epic 3-hour victory over Goffin in qualifying - a performance which takes on a whole new value in light of today's results..

Nardi would'e gotten whooped in straights if he played Alcaraz. The difference between a veteran and a young gun is huge in such matchups. The latter always craps his pants

time difference is killing me this week, but I'll record as the week goes on

didn't think I had to worry about Alcaraz

Tennis is funny sometimes. 2 weeks ago Goffin lost 6-2 6-3 against a semi-retired Gilles Simon. 2 days ago he lost against the world number #152 in the last round of the qualifying draw. Today he beats the world number #1 in straight sets. Alcaraz's biggest beatdown since Zverev in Vienna in October last year.

I hope we get to see a Djokovic/Medvedev match in Semifinal at least.

Not easy to be No. 1 with the big target on your back that everyone else guns for.

After winning the USO and playing a ton of tennis to do it 19 year old Charlie travels to Kazakhstan to pick up a huge appearance money check and loses in R1 and TTW thinks it means something as far as his tennis. :giggle:

If it were Benoit Paire TTW would smear him with sh*t for that.
