LOL I doubt Goffin is gunning for anything. He's just a gatekeeper at best who likes to compete hard at 500 tourneys while doing nothing in the majors.
LOL. Go-Go was up 2-1 in Wimby QFs just 3 months ago. That was his fourth career slam QF. He has a great slam resume with eight 4R results to go along with the four QFs. He gatekeeps with the best at the highest level, not at 500s.

I don't like these tournaments held in the countries of the ex Soviet Union. Always looks semi dark in the arena, there are barely any crowds attending, and the colour of the court isn't helping either. You're getting strong vibes that they've playing in some sort of an abandoned indoor swimming pool tbh.

There is plenty of people attending, but I agree that the court looks depressing...

I’d say Garin did most of the baking, to be perfectly honest… lol, how is this guy so good at Wimbledon
Luck of the draw at SW19. In his two runs there to R16/QF his signature win was vs AdM in a fifth set match STB. Off clay, Garin is basically cannon fodder after 1R/2R. This week it’s a 1R result.

What a shame. Nardi injured at the start of the 2nd TB, after not having allowed a single break point the whole match. Hopefully it doesn't force him to miss Florence and the rest of the season, just as he's starting to find his stride.

Either way, congrats on a fabulous performance today.

Has Goffin won anything significant in his entire decade+ long career yet?
Alcaraz won the US Open at 19.

I never implied Goffin’s superiority to Alcaraz, just your inaccurate portrayal of Goffin’s performance at slams vs 500s. Sensitive to correction much there, Mike???

It's very good to see Goffin generally performing better, almost at pre-eye injury level. After that whallop of Dimitrov's ball hit him, he wasn't the same for years.

Winning the US open doesn’t give you a free pass to collect your fee and tank your match.

I would not describe the scenario as a tank. I refer back to what I wrote. Given the circumstances it's simply not surprising.

It will be interesting to see how BP reacts when playing appearance money events after winning his first Major even though BP is at a more mature stage in his tennis development.

Botic is playing very solid. Some great tennis by both players. Novak with a very high level of serving...
