The bottom half of the draw is not getting a lot of attention on TTW, but there have been some great matches.

Take this one. Two promising young stars, one playing at home, battling it out for a QF berth. Who do you having winning?

Sinner beat Alex at the Sofia Open and the NextGen Finals. Does he make it a hat trick in Melbourne? Or does Aussie Aussie Oye Oye bring him down?

Tight four sets. Sinner has been great this season, but hasn't had many serious opponents, either. This will be an interesting test for him and it looks like 2019 De Minaur might be back.

I am hoping Alex gets a boost from the home crowd! 9: Rooting for Alex to win but I know that Jannik is the favorite to win.

Have they moved this match out of town?

Sinner winner. Demonic power is lacking. In 4.

I've always liked Demon's game, but I think Sinner is basically a similar player who does everything better.
Guess I am hoping that Sinner has an off day and Alex has an unusually great one - but I know it is more likely that Sinner will win... of course it was more likely that Zverev was going to win, and that didn't happen! (:

Funny fistpump to the box from Sinner after Alex made an unforced error.

Think ADM is trying to be a little too aggressive at times here.

Sinner has clearly a lot more firepower and quick de Minaur has done well trying to work around that. Still a close fight.

A bit unfortunate break points but that is a Sinner thing. Interesting how early de Minaur takes some of them an flattens them. Trying to rob time but it is thin margins over the cord.

Cahill who I think is a good analyst calling Sinner a future 1. Not sold on him there yet. Needs better movement or better serve. Have to be elite elite at one of those to be number 1 unless maybe you're an Agassi level ball striker which Sinner is not imo.

De Minaur wilĺ rally though, and come back, will clamp down those errors.

Never seen Sinner need his team so much. Always fist pump to them.he unsure maybe?

I've noticed the same.

Gotta say I prefer the Sinner of old who would just wander around iceman style like Medvedev.
Heh heh the iceman cometh! Final for sure...

Medvedev always seem.s almost effortless cool (dammit) don't he

Sinner serves to go two birds in hand (and none in the bush).

ADM too many UE.

Yeah, de Minaur has to win some points trice. Still not done but it is clear that the margins of play favor the lanky youngster.

De Minaur is not very good.

Sinner though as I said has been my favorite for a SF showdown with Daniil since the draw came out.

he might never get an easier road to a Slam SF. He’s looking ready to take the next step and the Tsitsipas QF is a perfect test to see if he’s for real.
