You can count on practically one hand the number of players who are decent on grass, so no, this wouldn't be surprising. Just needs to avoid a dangerous player in early rounds.

Opponent was zoning from mid of the first set, proper baseline Grasscourter and Med only cared enough to not get bagelled in the second. Serve wasn't good but Medvedev's opponent would still have beaten him, played high quality tennis. Had beaten FAA in semis so seems to be a good grass courter.
