Looks like Martinez is a bit of a choker.

Berrettini took the second set after down 1-5 in tiebreak!!!! The big forehands did the damage!

That was all on talent from Berry, waking up at the right time. Winners everywhere, including a droop volleigh that the Ma.s.ster wood bee proud of.

Up a double break and 40-30 is not a terrible place to throw in the DF but it shows he’s still struggling to be his best. He escapes though a few points later with an ace and a lucky net cord overhead that led to Pedro muffing his response. 5-1.

The Jarry service is large and in charge enough to get him another couple of TBs if he needs them today vs ARV. Four aces in three service games and 100% of first serve points won. 3-all.

Jarry continues to play only tiebreak matches. Today he beat Hanfmann in straight sets 7-6(7-5) 7-6(7-2).
Another match with no service breaks. Jarry won his second consecutive match not having a break point in all the match. His opponent just got 2 he couldn’t convert in the third game of the first set.
Jarry meets Albert Ramos Viñolas next match.

Jarry TB streak and tournament participation ended today.
He lost 7-6(6-4) 6-4 7-6(10-8).
He held one match point on Ramos' serve at 8-7 in the third set tie break, after saving 2 earlier in that TB. Ramos finished the match winning his third MP, on Jarry's serve.
Jarry continued to produce many aces, this match he had 21.

Aces made by Jarry in his 3 matches played in the tournament: 37 (in 3 sets)-10 (in 2 sets) - 21 (in 3 sets.

A win today would have also gotten him back in the Top 100, instead now he still has work to do. Weird that it's taking him so long to get back there.

Thiem looks shorter than his listed 6'1 height. Maybe it's due to the (weird colors and baggy) adidas outfit. Speaking of, how's he playing with a collar turned up around the neck when people are sweating sitting in the stands?

I wish they would switch to the likely end of the Ruud-Ramos-Vinolas match now on Tennis Channel! I figured Ruud would win, and will play Berrettini in the final tomorrow!

Ruud vs Berrettini ought to be a really interesting final! Not really sure which of the two will win it....

At 1-5 in the second set TB of Berry vs Martinez it was looking awfully doubtful that the expected Ruudettini final would happen. Gstaad got the deserved matchup of two former champions and they both seem in form after today’s results. Should be a great match!

I really am not sure who will tomorrow's final - Ruud makes sense since he won so easily today but Berrettini is a far greater challenge. Either way is fine, hopefully I will be awaiting Charly in the other final (if he wins today, which I sure am hoping he will!) (:

Ruud hits a ball out, Berrettini continues to play, Ruud hits a winner... Then Berrettini points at the mark - and the umpire gives him the point.

Disgust. The umpires don't know the rules of tennis...

The umpire didnt give him the point, he ruled that they replay the point. Berrettini’s challenge came after he had hit the ball though, so he didn’t stop playing, agreed.
