Fours more days in a row will be necessary if Rublev would like to get a second title and party on the Reeperbahn like it was 2020. That’s if the weather allows play tomorrow with a rainy front breaking the heatwave.

Busta might be the weakest ever top 10 ATPer. Pure vanilla game at best and error prone when off the boil. The two USO SF runs were courtesy of some very fortunate circumstances (four straight qualifiers in one and Djokorage in the other). His best other slam results are two RG QFs.

Mokcan has some nice hands and some serious power from the pair of tree trunks he walks around on.

Aww, no chance! His resume is WAY better than a Monaco, a Tipsarevic (who actually played in TWO ATP Finals!!!) a Gulbis or even a Fognini (whom he beat 7 out of 8 times). He sure ain't exciting or especially charismatic, but Carreno is a solid player. As in, his actual game style is built on consistency, intensity, fight and fitness - a typical product of the Spanish assembly line. The problem is that he's anything but solid in the clutch, and actually tends to be very chokey and trembly and "Italian" when he has to close out a very big or very tight match - and today was no exception.

Molcan or Coric will be a SFist. Surprised but happily surprised.

Coric was lost at sea in his first set vs Djere but now is steering under control. He and Thiem are rebounding now back towards previous forms.

Molcan loves the red clay he grew up on, getting his career best results (3 250 finals) in the last 14 months. That Belgrade’21 surprise has been some springboard.

Was it Busta choking or Molcan trolling?
It was razor thin. Conditions were ridiculous - 102 deg and wind whipping up clay dust. Molcan got lucky. He did not look good imo and he was missing literally 80% first serves down the final stretch. Busta didn't look terrible but he made just one too many UEs.

Molcan was sharp in the first set. Serving out from 5-3 0-40 with some well placed first serves. Then the conditions wilted him for PCB to bake a breadstick. The third set was pretty ugly for both. At least it didn’t blow like RG’19 SFs.

Happy to see Borna Coric earning some much needed points. I was starting to fear he would have to moulder away on the Challenger circuit forever.

Karatsev took the second set 6-3.
This is maybe the first time I see Karatsev care about winning points... showing some positive body language.

If Galan cannot rally and get the win my next shopping list will include hydrogen peroxide to bleach my retinas. They are damaged from that WOAT kit in tennis history.

Karatsev got broken back to love.

Karatsev's serve reminds me of Wawrinka's. Not a lot of variety or shape on the ball. He needs to add variety / spin on his serve.

Lol Rublev eating the tennis ball after getting broken.

Rublev gets overpowered.

Lol Rublev is screaming.. he's so upsettttt

Watched entire Fabio-Karen match, pretty good stuff. Makes me wonder how well Khachanov might do at USO swing. Would be Top 20 with a final or win here and of course no Wimbledon points so context important.

Frankly, I think he is more talented than Rublev or Medvedev (although no where near as clever as Daniil), but his life is on a different path with the wife and the kid.

Would like to see him going in the right direction again.

Alcaraz is just ball bashing with his fh, brainless

Honestly never thought he was great on clay. More of an HC guy IMO. The only clay he really suceeded on is the most HC-like one
