So there he is! we have to admit that the crowd didnt behave properly and affected Kyrgios but anyway, great to see Nadal in Semis.
Lets see if Carlitos manage to be there too and we can have an awesome match!

Well, better control from Kyrs but Nads doing. As things and managed himself much better given his lowest level I have seen.

Well that was pretty entertaining. I expected a few more bullets from Nick. And while he was more controlled in his shots than usual, he still made a couple of boneheaded choices that really affected the match. He just can't help himself. Fair play by Nadal. (y)

By the time anyone punishes him in a longer match, he will be on his yacht resting for Monte Carlo, unscratched, with several HC titles to his name already lol.

Can't complain with what we got today overall. Thought Nadal would steamroll him after snatching the first set.

This is a case where double-faults are good for tennis, it makes the game more dramatic (y)

Kyrgios is probably the last guy I wanted to end Rafa's streak because we all know he'd never stfu about it. Glad Rafa beat that clownyrgios at the end

Don't care what happens after this, no more negative shenanigans with NK outta here, I'm cool with anyone left in the draw winning

Nick played some fantastic tennis, but the reality is that Nick in his best form for years is still too limited mentally and physically to beat Rafa when he is this match tough and confident, even if his level has dipped a lot since AO/Acapulco.

The "clown" took Nadal to 4-6 in the third. If Nick's a "clown" that doesn't say much for Rafa's tennis. Shouldn't it have been 6-0, 6-0 for Rafa?

Being a clown and being a talented tennis player are not mutually exclusive :) Look at Fognini, Bublik etc etc.

Nick will always be a tough matchup in big matches when his body is feeling fresh (he's only played 6 matches in 2022), he is feeding off the attention of the crowd, and (most importantly) he is serving well.

Not only does Nick have freakish racquetwork skills and one-punch power, but his histrionics and boorish loudmouth antics over the other side of the net (ie the clown part) are very distracting, even for the mental warriors like Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and co.

Easy for an opponent's rhythm and concentration to be knocked by the chaos on the other side of the net.

He managed the pain so well one couldn’t even tell he has a life threatening foot injury! What a warrior

You sound young and/or you have never played a competitive sport. Lots of people and athletes compete through pain. Kerrie Strug anyone. Look up David Gotgins, Mateo Mitchell, and number of athletes who compete with extreme injuries, not just a chronic annoyance. But bang on if it makes you feel better man.

He was being sarcastic lol

Kyrgios is the Kanye of the tennis world
Kanye has sold 21 million album copies and owns a $1 billion shoe brand. I hate Kanye too but at least he can brag about his achievements. When you've actually achieved stuff and act like a jerk, I can at least say you're a successful jerk, but when you've done nothing of note and still act like a jerk, then you're just a jerk - Kanye is the former, NK is the latter

Oh no doubt Nick was brilliant today, Rafa beat him by winning the crucial points. He's clearly a very difficult opponent when he's on his game but I still think he's a psychopath who would've done some very....scary things in his life by now had he not been good enough to make a living playing tennis

And they win as well? Such humble warriors!
