Tiebreak chronology:

0-0 Tsitsipas: 1st serve + FH takes it
0-1 Sinner: 2nd serve, Tsit tries to attack with FH but ends up shanking his third FH and Sinner punishes with a dropper
1-1 Sinner: ace
1-2 Tsitsipas: 1st serve + FH again
2-2 Tsitsipas: tries 1st serve+FH again, this time the forehand is not as good and Sinner is able to counterattack and gain the upper hand but then misses a backhand long
2-3 Sinner: unreturned 1st serve
3-3 Sinner: DF (1st of the match, gah)
4-3 Tsitsipas: 2nd serve, Sinner attacks, pressures the Titty backhand and finishes with a volley putaway
4-4 Tsitsipas: unreturned 1st serve
4-5 Sinner: 1st serve followed by a long tense rally lasting 23 shots and some line-lickers - eventually Tsitsipas mugs up
5-5 Sinner: 2nd serve, Tsitsipas attacks and eventually finishes at net
6-5 Tsitsipas: big 1st serve and finishes at net

Tsit basically wins with better serving - missed one 1st serve (lost that point) vs Sinner missing 3 (lost 2). The double fault proved crucial.

Set Stefanos. Tight affair.

Stef should reach the final and play Djokovic. That will really tell us where he's at before RG.

I'm pretty sure it won't lol. He can win RG and a Final or even a loss today would not change that. He was able to win RG last year as well, why do you possibly think he wouldn't be able to win it this year?

Sinner is waving his flag here...

For all of Sinner's promise shown in 2020, this is his record vs. top 10 players in '21-22:

4-12, wins over Rublev 2x, Hurkacz, Ruud (i.e. the mugs of the top 10)

only 1 set taken in his last 4 losses at Slam level. Straight set beatings.

I will give him credit, he played Medvedev really close at WTF and Zverev close at MC. There are signs of improvement. But he really needs to get over the hump.

Exactly.

Another fan taken ill .... nothing to see here, even though this rarely happened before, it happens now in virtually every match...

Shut up you bigots !! don't question it!!

Since Rg 2021 all big 4 clay tournaments (Rg,Mc, Madrid and now Rome) , Zverev Tsitsipas have played a SF which shows goid consistency although this trend will finish at Rg 22 since they are seeds 3 and 4 and cannot meet before the final but surely they are solid clay players

Sad when such mugs make semis, no?
