First meeting between these two players, and it should be an interesting one as both players are considered "unorthodox" at some extents.

Medvedev defeated Martinez 6-3 6-4, 71% of first serves in, 79% of points won on first serve, 3/6 BPs converted, 2/3 BPs saved.

Brooksby defeated Bautista Agut 6-3 5-7 6-4 (was 4-*0 down in the third), 63% of first serves in, 85% of points won on first serve, 6/12 BPs converted, 6/10 BPs saved.

On paper....I have no idea. Two of the trickiest players out there. True chess on the run.

Med did just beat Brooksby's pushy predecessor, but Jenson can run far better than Murray at this point.

Medvedev would be thankful to Brooksby for taking out RBA.

Pathetic matchup, such matchups really bore me to death

Medvedev is 11-0 against players born in the 2000s. Can Brooksby crack that sterling record?

Yeah, but he's never played Alcaraz or Nakashima.

Brooksby is absolutely demolishing the Medvedev 2nd serve. One of the best 2nd serve attacking performances I've seen against Med...

That was so funny when Medvedev smashed the ball onto Brooks chest, and in that same rally Brooks had hit a ball after it bounced twice and the umpire didn't see :-D

Brooksby, champion material?

Not judging by this disastrous mini-meltdown.

I predict.............................. a solid top 30 career.

Brooksby not handling the pressure well.
Loses last 2 service games and set.
Pressure handling is only the most important thing, once you've reached the top 100...

He seems too "milky" somehow, like a 12 year-old. Almost as harmless as Felix.

They will be underachievers, always. Or mostly. Forget the talent, that doesn't matter too much when you're not clutch.

Great set by both. Brooksby might have been "figured out" by Medvedev now, though, but dang he was sure bothering Medvedev's game. Let's see what happens in the 2nd.
