Thought he'd fall short eventually. But a good fight after it looked like it was going to be a routine final early in the second set.

Not the most spectacular tournament overall, but the quarterfinal day was stunning for sure.

Sixth player to defend Monte Carlo, after Nastase, Borg, Muster, Ferrero and Nadal. What a company to be part of. Congrats to Tsitsipas.

Such a big win for many reasons

-First title in 11 months
-First NextGen to defend a big title that I can remember
-Big confidence builder in winning multiple matches where he failed to serve it out. Damn near got bageled by Diego and fought back to win the whole thing.
-Proves he's still the man to beat on clay from his gen despite his struggles last year

Great week for Fokina, some big wins taking him up to a new career high ranking of #27.

A good, not perfect week from Tsitsipas. Some spells of really strong play accompanied by big dips, but on the whole I'm delighted to see him back to winning ways after the tough run he's had. He'll need improvement to contend for Roland Garros, hopefully he solidifies as the weeks go by and can do deep again.

Don't know if someone said it before but the last person who was able to defeat Tsitsipas in Monte Carlo is Medvedev!

Looool at Annacone.

He’s a nice 7.0 in futures betting on Betfair, so worth a $50–$100 bet, I think.
Problem is RAFA. what kind of form will he be in when paris starts. If RAFA is close to playing shape that he was in during australian open(he wasn't 100 %) , then he will win french open again only cause novak is not in good shape. Even full strength novak can't beat RAFA close to 100 % on red clay at French open.

No Carretero fairy tale ending for WTFokina.

If there’s any silver lining playbook it was a valuable first ATP final learning experience and got him 600 points towards an almost certain seeding at RG (NCH #27) to defend his surprising QF finish last year.
Carretero came out of nowhere. Fokin was a QF at FO, and QF at MC last year.

Compared to Carretero, Fokin had an illustrious career.
