Good to see Kyrgios reset after a disappointing tiebreak. Med won the set without doing anything special, as so often.

PS! Medvedev's 2nd serve is very passive for such a tall guy. Federer and Djokovic have superb 2nd serves.

I still remember how abysmal Kyrgios was at net in that Wim 14 match against Nadal. I was fairly young so hopefully I'm not getting this mixed up but IIRC it was by far the worst aspect of his game in that contest. Impressive improvements in that department for a guy who supposedly barely practices since that point in time.

Brown in W15 was spectacular, though.

Medvedev is starting to get better looks into the return games. If he doesn't donate a break again I think he'll take this.

Nick has been absolutely rock solid on serve except for the TB mug up.

Med’s deep return is just way too easy to exploit. That being said I don’t trust him to keep it together, Med will put pressure on him this set.

Medvedev slapping way too much long and into the net. Whenever he's coming close to potentially break, he screwes it up

My commentators said he has a 95% service hold stat for 2022.

Kyrgios is volleying well but I think his lack of physical fitness is forcing him to employ more netplay after his exploits in DC. He's literally coming in on every second serve. The fact that Medvedev can't adapt and problem solve in the face of what is imo verging on a desperation tactic really tells you a lot about how unbelievably one dimensional he is for a top player. It's ridiculous really.

I'll tell you watching this match in person I really don't know how Danieel won the first set except for Kyrgios just giving it to him. Medvedev is the lesser player throughout. Just more consistent. Which is why I hate the possible future of top tennis, boring percentage players.

Medvedev literally gifting him the match on a silver platter with those pathetic UEs. Kyrgios to servebot it out
