Medvedev is all business like, very professional, so far straight setting his much lower ranked opponents. As expected of them. Tsitsipas and Zverev are both too in love with themselves and in their 5 setters both went down 2 sets before they realised 2nd gear wasn't going to be enough.

If FAA is an option in the poll then certainly Rune should be too.

Or instead of him.

FAA wining any slam seems like sci-fi to me, but especially FO.

But it's all irrelevant anyway, since Djokovic is taking this trophy...

I would say he will win one Roland Garros untill the end of his career. Probably not this year though.

Winner of the third round match between Medvedev and Kecmanovic will probably go all the way to SF. Kec has a good chance.
If Medvedev wins RG, then we should be worried about the state of tennis. He’s very ill equipped on this surface and a competent clay courter should be able to him apart pretty easily like we saw Tsitsipas do last year. But with this clown Gen, you never know.

Not saying he's a threat but he's improving on clay. Look at his slam results, FO is clearly his worst slam as he played it 5 times losing the first 4 times in the 1R and it was only last year when he made a break through and advanced past R1 and done quite good for his standards by reaching the QF. Watching the highlights this year of him his body langauge looks comfortable.

No, he doesn't. Med in 3. 4 at worst.

Imagine buying the wildly expensive Chatrier tickets today.

you would get: Medvedev-Djere (one sided borefest)
Caroline Garcia-Madison Keys (LMAO)
Steve freaking Johnson-Gilles Simon (these guys play mainly challengers)
Alize Cornet-Jelena Ostapenko

Wow.
The mens draw is so so so so skewed towards top half, it is really laughable how they have completely butchered the draw

Ain't missing out on much usually if you just get a groundspass for first few days. End up with high seeds rolling usually, or overpaying for lineups like this :-D

Pedro can no longer cash in. The Argentine is FINNISH, done in by local hero Hugo Gaston. Not a bad week for Cachin, cash in the bank for a LL and a 1R victory.

Gaston vs Rune is next.

Kolar really should have broken Tsits honestly. 2 BPs come and gone.

This guy winning RG would be one of the all time greatest vulture jobs, talk about undeserved.

Tsitsi is good on this surface,tbf..
Strong disagree.
Last year would be ok with it, this year his form has been shaky. I would hate to see him play a teletubby in Rublev or Sinner in the SF and beat a dead legged Alcaraz or Djokodal who went through a war in the SF.

I mean he’s down a break to a qualifier in the second set right now. (Ok looks like he broke back, but still)

Shaky Monte Carlo win, finalist in Rome and semis in Madrid?

Lol geeez... he's in the second round! If he wins the next 5 by walkover I'll agree with you... let's see how it pans out before we assess who deserved what.

In other news, Sinner looking terrible. Seems to be struggling physically as per usual, and possibly having some issues seeing the ball (touching his eyes/contacts a lot). Maybe he can take a detour to Lourdes if things don't work out in Paris...

Yes. Remember he was basically dead to rights down 4-0 in the last set to Diego in MC as well. And for all of his exploits he’s only beaten Zverev really. Getting bageled in Rome by Novak is not really a sign of a guy who has taken the next step.

i think he was better in all aspects last year, despite the results, talking about playing level.

Beginning to like this Kolar guy. Tsitsipas is raging, biting his racquet, screaming after every point and he’s just cool.

Also, he has ZK for his name (Zdenek Kolar I assume) on his clothes. Hilarious. If you don’t have a sponsor why not sponsor yourself? Lol. Anyway I think he loses this TB but good to have gotten there anyways.
