Just looking at Zverev's route to the quarters: (Q) Ofner, Baez, Nakashima, and (Q) Zapata Miralles. Not exactly top level opponents! He needed three tiebreaks (one of which went 13-11) and one five-setter.
 
I love Alcaraz and I really hope he beats Zverev but something tells me that I will be disappointed with the outcome.

Head says Zverev in 5 but I hope that I am completely wrong on this one.

I think Zverev’s really out of his depth here. Alcaraz has been in better form all year, even/especially in the clay season. In pre-RG tourneys, per ATP site, Alcaraz won 82% of service games and 35% of return games. Zverev is down at 78% and 27% respectively. And here at Roland Garros, per @travlerajm, Alcaraz has a 1.75 dominance ratio to Zverev’s 1.12. Z hasn’t won a title all year. Madrid was pretty easily his best run, the only place he’s beaten any top ten players this season (Rublev and Tsitsipas), and is also one of his best tournaments generally with two previous titles, yet he got flattened in the final against Carlitos. Would be pretty shocking if Z actually pulled off the upset here.
 
I believe that Carlos will win tomorrow. He has been the best in the world in 2022. May his happiness increase and his good fortune continue! (:
 
If Carlos is in his usual form, then he should win this. There is nothing in Zverev’s recent form to suggest he is much of a threat either.

Have a feeling that this won’t be straightforward at all for Carlos. In fact I’m calling the upset here. Z in 5 only to bend over for Djoko/Dal next round. Hope I’m proven wrong and Alcaraz destroys Z
 
Z needs two things to win. The first is him being on the absolute top of his game, not least serve wise - something he rarely manages in important slam matches. Secondly, Alcaraz needs to have a bad day like he did against ARV, his first bad performance in a while.
In other words, everything points to Alcaraz. He is very much capable of taking advantage of Zverevs weak second serves, something that will likely put extra mental pressure on Z and as we all know, once his serve starts going away, the rest of his game will follow.
 
Is it true that the match won't begin until after the second women's match today?

Couldn't agree more. Once Steffi went, no interest in WTA.
 
This could be the worst GS loss for Zverev in a while. I wonder if Carlos took note of Zverev's comments about him being favored by the organizers.
 
I think Zverev has one big push to take a game, but think that will be close. I just don't see Zverev being able to bully Alcz at all.

So Alcz in 4 solid sets.

Oh, but PS - Alcz in straights if Zverev has one of "THOSE" serving days where the court keeps moving on him and fans need to duck.
 
Zverev's serving will get him out to a 2 set lead. But then, vintage Zverev will choke the match away.

Alcaraz in 5: 6-7, 4-6. 6-4, 6-3, 6-0.
 
The destruction in that Madrid finals will still be fresh in Z’s mind. Can Z use that as fuel and give as an interesting match today?
