Pretty pathetic showing from Korda when just a few days ago some mug takes Alcarez to the edge.. Don't be Roddick dude.
What’s with the ARV shade? The guy is far from “mug” level on clay, winning four titles, making RG QF one year and getting to #17 in the world. He even did what Korda hasn’t done more recently: win a clay title (Córdoba in February).

Plenty of eventual champions dodge bullets from just the type of rough customers that Albert is on the dirt. Alcaraz did the Brad Gilbert thing, winning ugly and then obviously learned from it.

You have two 90s era great names in your handle so you may or may not remember Derrick Rostagno. According to your version of shade, he was a total mug too (just one title, #13 career high) but Boris Becker needed a lucky net cord to avoid a 2R loss at USO’89. Becker had easier wins the rest of the way to the title. Would your advice be, “Don’t be Mecir, or don’t be Pernfors, or don’t be Noah, or don’t be Krickstein, or don’t be Lendl.” None of them went to a fifth set after DR blew MPs 2R. Total mug. Changed tennis history being a mug.

smh

He's nothing like his Dad, who was super hyper and incredibly expressive on court.

He reminds me of Borg

Funny bc everyone loves how cool Borg was, but when a young player comes along with a similar vibe, we can't recognize it

haha Even though I saw it, I still wouldn't have believed it happened if you didn't supply the evidence. Awk well. All draws are not created equal and all that.

He has had a fair share of struggles against classic pushers & flat hitters, including Ramos Vinolas, De Minaur, Norrie, Kecmanovic, etc.
Each of those players had to play the match of their lives to get even close to winning, the best they had ever played. Even Carlos's 3 losses this year were all super close matches that could have gone either way. They all had to play at their very highest level to compete with Carlos in 2022! (: (: (:

smh

vinolas was the most dangerous unseeded player, it looked like. he was a true clay specialist, people under rate him. and carlos had an 'off day' on an 'outside' court. on chatrier he would've comfortably beaten ARV. Lenglen clay is totally different imho.
