Hope Stan wins... but if not, at least we'll probably get the luxury of determining who's officially 2nd and 3rd of the GOAT race on Saturday behind Fred

We both know that the number means nothing in this matchup context. ;)
4-1in the last 5 slam matches.

Yes, if the numbers don't suit your narrative, "they mean nothing" so we gotta cherry pick. ;)

4-4 in slams but let's only include the last 5 slam matches, even the ones where Djokovic was injured because it's more satisfying for me it's more telling somehow.

What's the h2h in slams and slam finals?

"Let's cherry pick even more by counting slam finals even though one has been played on Djokovic's worst surface and the other one against end of 2016 Djokovic with the elbow injury" (of course those matches still count but if you wanna take those ones and exclude the other ones to reach a conclusion, big lol). As for the slam h2h, if a tie is what you consider an ownage then you have a very personal definition of the word which doesn't come close to reality.

Come on you know the look on Novak’s eyes when Stan starts zoning. He’s almost always absolutely helpless and clueless. Nole fans are just lucky that his boogeyman and worst nemesis is not an ATG and is inconsistent.

Djokovic appears to have slept on a bed of rusty nails staring at a photo of Stan in the RG ‘15 plaid shorts all night, lol.. this is a bit of a beatdown. i do believe Stan will warm up and give us some epic rallies though.

to be honest what were people expecting? this is Stan’s fourth match on the ATP circuit since his comeback and he’s practically a centenarian these days. And besides, this isn’t a Slam
This might be their last match, plus we haven't seen them play in like 3 years

And somehow, Wawrinka was in the zone only in the matches he won but not in the ones he lost. Very convenient. Everyone knows that Peak Wawrinka is very hard to deal with for Djokovic, who needs to be at his best and super focused to win, but trying to force the narrative that Wawrinka is his "boogeyman" and Djokovic is absolutely helpless when he's in the zone is ridiculous. That's just something non Djokovic fans tell themselves to feel better.

I have missed Stan’s “pretty power tennis” on the tour these days, gotta say. Only Thiem really seems to have something like this but not to the same extent.

To get as much accuracy and spin as he does on that 1HBH is pretty incredible. Thiem can obviously crush the ball but even at his best I always felt like he was kind of hitting and hoping. Stan on the other hand can not only generate his own pace, he can place it on a dime off both wings, with a 1HBH that’s so difficult..

Djokorinka won 9 out of 12 GSs between 2014 and 2016 with 2015 CYGS in a bag.
Fact.

Wawrinka holds with some nice shots. He might not have his old speed and agility but he hasn't forgotten how to hit a ball..

All I want before Stan retires is one full fledged Stan the Man showing against a big player anywhere. Slams seem to be a big ask, even a masters would do.
