I don't see anyone in this draw who could stop him if he's at his average level.
The only threat is Cilic, and he is one of his favorite pigeons.

Projected draw for Nole
1/8 : Monteiro or Andujar
1/4 : Griekspoor or Gojowczyk
1/2 : Schwartzman or Karatsev
F : Cilic or Cressy

How serious is his wrist injury?

I've been here watching the matches today, so far the court looks medium-slow and low bouncing. Really looking forward to seeing Thiem play live for the first time

I thought this tournament would be outdoors. Isn't Israel's weather a perpetual summer?
Funnily enough, there's almost no indoor tennis courts in the whole country, but for some reason they decided to do it indoors. We've also had many Davis cup ties indoors so I'm not surprised

Overall it was a good match, I had a great time. I doubt Thiem gets through Cilic in this form but as a fan it's a dream come true seeing him

No Dudi Sela?
He's officially retiring at the end of the season, but unfortunately he hasn't really been around for a while.
Tonight Yshai Oliel (#1 ranked Israeli) and Edan Leshem (#3 ranked Israeli) are playing each other and it should be interesting (albeit too bad that only one of them can move forward in the draw)

Korda through fairly easily. Was maybe playing a bit passive in rallies but he didn't have to overplay. Looked like he was trying to go bigger on serve though. Topped out at 130mph I think. Mostly see him in mid 120s but I don't recall the biggest serve I've seen him hit.

Commentators mentioned Stepanek in his box at one point but I don't think the camera ever showed him. Playing a blacked out racquet now too which is a bit interesting. Think other posters pointed out that he's playing an 18x19 now like Djokovic, Meddy, and maybe a few others.

It’s funny that they allow the spectators in and out continuously and when the umpire asks them to hurry, they look at him like what’s your problem! :-D

Cressy vs Korda was an entertaining match to watch in person, despite the lack of rallies

Especially looking forward to Cilic vs Thiem tonight, should be lit!

Cilic is such a mug. Thiem has no business winning this match but the mental weakness of Marin keeps him in..hopefully he squeezes this one out. Should be a nice confidence boost

Why is beating an out of sorts Thiem a confidence boost?

Emil is FINNISH, courtesy of the constant vector known as Lestienne. The veteran (age 30) Challenger journeyman is already on the cusp of top 60, thanks to a hot streak since Wimbledon (3 Challenger titles and a final plus now 250 QFs). Cressy is next.
