4 for 4 so far on the six teens trying to qually into the US Open. Andreeva and Bejlek still to go, the latter down a break in the third.
6 for 6, wow. I believe Fruhvirtova will be the first person born in 2005 to make a major main draw. Bejlek first born in 2006.

... requested this thread be merged into my original since that’s how this forum works :)
It does point to a problem with the forum, which is that entire threads go invisible when someone on your ignore lists starts the thread. You can "unhide" those threads by scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking "show hidden content", but that placement is so out of the way that most people won't even see it.

I've previously asked for an option to always show threads started by ignored members, but so far no luck (or response). Another user suggested moving that "show ignored content" link at the top, which would be more practical. Even better would be if we could all just tolerate each other, but that's a tall ask. :p

The real weird thing is ttw coming out of the woodwork the last couple months to start every thread. Then he acts innocent in the OP because he wants this one too.

I actually appreciate @ttwreader opened this thread. As I have the other guy on ignore, and would not participate in his thing anyway. If somehow this gets merged, and I hope it doesn’t… I’m out.

It’s going to get merged, you’ve been around long enough to know. I don’t like the other OP either, but didn’t realize so many had him on ignore.

Nooo.. If it gets merged, just keep AD on ignore if you must, but bookmark the thread. That way you can still follow along, without seeing a single AD post. Personally I end up clearing my ignore list completely once in a while, and wait for “the next offense” by whoever was on it. Works well enough for me.

To be clear, I am not interested in creating any thread, unless I wait for days to post on an ongoing event and nobody cares to create it. I posted to the thread create by Aussie Darcy a day before I created this thread for the reason I stated in post #1. I also sent the link of the other thread to some posters here before I created this thread but it seemed not working out for them.

This is blatantly not factual.

The real issue is when these two are merged, how many will it affect?

You can merge (or delete) as you want and I don't care. Here is my posts there before I created this thread (sorry, it's just 6 hours, not a day)

You think I’m a mod?! Mods freaking hate me.

I’ve just been around long enough to know there will be one thread.

It's OK since I don't know who are the mods here. Here is the discussion just to prove that I didn't make thing up.

Potentially in the 70s-80s it looks like.

Thank you! :) Not as far down as I thought, considering she has won so few matches. I think I read her express interest, or at least acquiescence, in going down to play qualies and having to earn her way back to main draws at tournaments.

I get it. Hopefully when they do merge, they merge his into this one, that would be the easy solution.

Typically they simply go by first created though.

Well as we all know, the original thread is the one that stands on this forum. Anyway, let’s enjoy this US Open :)

I voted Emma to catch fire again. I know it’s insane. I really think it’ll be someone outside the top 15 seeds.

I want to know how Coco Vandeweghe is still getting wildcards…just having her athlete family?

Very hard to pick, I don't know how anyone can pick with any confidence. Osaka is the best on HC when in form, we know that but who knows what Osaka we get. I'll go out on a limb and say Fernandez to go one better and win. I haven't checked the draw yet...

y'all, let's make prediction of quarterfinalist

cc: @UnderratedSlam @coolcamden @zvelf
It is almost absurd to try to predict QFs for this USO, but here's a try...

Sweetek (could easily lose before though: reserves are Zheng/Potapova/Ostapinko)
Pera

Bencic
(this section is impossible to predict: alternatives are Quitova/Badosa/Bouzkova)
Screamalenka (or O'Saka)

Halep (or Gauff)
Garry CIA

Kazakh Tina
(or Kuder)
Samsonova (or Tomlja)

If I guess 3 right that would be the aim.

I am looking for Anisimova and Keys to have possible 2nd week runs. If AA can get past her first rd match she will be dangerous.

S. Bejlek - L. Samsonova got more surround noise, what with Bejlik's father and coach hugging her too closely for some people and media after her qualification, including kissing her on the mouth and grabbing or just tapping hefty pieces of her derriere, to which the 16-old babe seems to respond enthusiastically.

The match should be interesting anyway, even if I don't expect the teen, as fiery as she seems to be, to challenge Samsonova, one of my dark horses in USO 2022.

Halep - Snigur is another interesting item, as it showcases another former top junior, now 20 yo and #125 trying to challenge what might be too much for her bite, even though Halep has be careful.
