I see that being completely wrong about Garcia hasn't dented your confidence...

She followed up masters victory with a SF at the USO? How is that being "completely wrong"? lol Garcia had a big time summer winning a title on grass, a title on clay (beating Swiatek on clay in Poland), a masters on HC and a USO SF. Knowing the ladies curcuit she'll probably disappear now for a while but she did show her massive talent

Everyone made it sound like she's Serena '02. She had a big undefeated run during the weakest era in decades and everyone crowned her as the dominant force for the next decade lol She's masterful on clay and that's it. Schwartzmann's gonna win Wimbledon before she does. And the AO and USO seem out of reach as well. Unless she gets a teletubbie draw like this years USO again
Clown

She beat basically everyone in the top 10, multiple times, during that win streak on HC, indoor clay, and clay. She demolished Sabalenka 2 and 2, gave Keys one of the worst beatings I’ve ever seen on a pro level in IW, and beat Osaka, Sakkari, Kontaveit, Jabeur, Halep, Gauff, the list goes on and on. She hardly dropped a set either.

That level was legit. She was also imperious in Paris and I have no reason to believe anyone can beat her at RG in the near future. This surface is not her best at all and she’s still a long way ahead of where she was in 2021.

She will be great. She already is.

A Top 10 consisting Kontaveit, Sakkari, Badosa, Muguruza, Krejcikova :-D

I never denied her being the clay queen. That's pretty much it though

so just because some over-rated her streak, you go the other way around by calling non-achievers like Pegula, Niemeiar as better than Swiatek on HC who has made 2 GS semis on HC and won 3 high level tournaments? Puhlease.

Who else is she meant to beat besides the top 10 to win big titles? Like what are you even saying? You want her to beat lower ranked players? Retired players?

She beat everyone during that 37 match run.
Sabalenka, Sakkari, Kontaveit (3 back to back to back top 10 wins to win Qatar)
Kerber, Keys, Halep, Sakkari to win Indian Wells
Gauff, Kvitova, Pegula and Osaka to win Miami
Raducanu and Sabalenka to win Stuttgart
Pegula and Gauff to win the French

And that's just the big names. She broke the record for the longest women's win streak this century. Your comment is stupid.

How is facing back to back top 10 players Pegula in the QF and now Sabalenka in the SF and then Jabeur "teletubbie" draw.

Ash Barty didn't face a top 20 player at this years Australian Open dude. Swiatek will face THREE top 10 players back to back to back.

Yep, there’s the meltdown I was waiting for.

Iga didn’t do anything special but slowly made the court feel smaller and smaller.

Good run during the weakest era in decades. Kontaveit is ranked #2 FFS. A player whose best major result is a QF that she reached two years ago lol

What do you want from her? You want Iga to invent a time machine to go back to 2002 to face Serena and Venus? She can only play who is on tour and she's done that and she's dominated them all.

Then what is so impressive about what Barty was doing?

The fact that she whooped this new WTA superstar twice in the past year in straight sets. Once on clay in Madrid (masters event) and once on HC before the AO. Or the fact that Barty won three majors on three different surfaces? Despite being very injury prone. Barty>>>Swiatek in every aspect

Barty didn't face a single top 10 player at all 3 of her slam runs.
In her entire career she only defeated a top 10 player at a slam ONCE.
Swiatek has already done it 3 times and she's only 20.

Implosion complete - Iga Swiatek takes the second set on her third break of serve, 6-1. Aryna Sabalenka losing almost every second serve point and needs to regroup for this final set.

i am liking ons j a lot. i remember seeing her years ago and thinking her game was really nice, touch, imagination, power...hope she goes all the way.
