Rybakina went there to play her game, and that's what she did. It must be very tough for Jabeur, but she did make things easier for Elena. Still, Ons has the game to win this in the future. Hopefully she can.

Rybakina played more aggressive and kept her unforced errors down after the first set. It’s still about aggression on this court. Jab too passive and waiting for rybakina to self destruct . Jabeur got outpowered pretty much.

The ban was always a dumb move to be honest, but I doubt much would have changed results-wise on either side. Not like Medvedev is a favourite on grass

Not directly in the sense that one of the banned players probably would have won. But adding, multiple seeded Russian players, and others, completely shifts the draws and could very well result in a different champion or runner up.

Win win for Yonex today... also in the final of mens too with Kyrios as well.

Rybakina played more aggressive and overall better. That being said, Jabeur was making tons of UFEs without going for any winners. That's something that any opponent will welcome with open arms.

That was a pretty strong performance by young Rybakina. I loved her gentle celebration. Good contrast to the men banging their chests and rooster like strutting when they win. For a long time, I have preferred the sportsmanship and the demeanour of the women's tour. I also love their, for the most part, neutral handshakes.

Such a subdued reaction from the 1st time GS champion. She’s just the type that doesn’t show much emotion. Even Borg expressed more emotion when winning his GS.:)

Congrats to Rybakina. Well-deserved.
Borg showed big emotion after the win...the only time in 14 days though

I'm not really seeing it. Not saying she won't win another Slam but her game is far from complete. I still have no clue how to predict the women's game.

Would have to really improve at the net, but I like her instincts.....this win alone though will give her belief/confidence going forward. I'll be interested to see what she does @ Flushing Meadows.

Love that act liked I've done it before emotionless, stone cold reaction by Rybakina. Congrats. Pure class.

Sad for Jabuer. She has the perfect grass court game but got overpowered. Really wanted the African to make history.

Fitting that a Russian born now by way of Kazakhstan wins the champtionship. The ban was stupid.
She is not only Russia born but she LIVES in Russia as well! Oh the irony!!!!! (: (: (:

To be clear, Rybakina is always, always this way on court. The most you get out of her in any match is a small fist pump. She rarely even cracks a smile until after the match.

I hope this gives her the confidence toward her becoming a more dominant and consistent player. If Swiatek, Rybakina, Jabeur, and an Osaka playing full-time can stay at a high level, the WTA would be a lot more interesting.
