his 130mph serve is bullyable? the one that served 40 aces in the first two matches?

I think the comparison with him and '06 Nadal needs to be stopped. Yeah, young Nadal was a phenom but he was ultimately beatable due to his lack of power.

The comparison needs to be between Alcaraz and '08 NADAL. Rafa bit better movement and defense, but he never served this well.

Strong trolling my guy lol.

The Alcaraz ROS is amazing. Otte is serving great, but Alcaraz managing to get the ball back consistently, just broke Otte to love to take the first set.

@Kralingen, I am starting to feel you. Slow the engine, I'm about to jump on the Alcaraz bandwagon for Wimbledon. :p

He won't have much trouble returning Novak's serve after facing so many servebots in early rounds, next one might be Son John?

@Kralingen still thinks Nadal has a chance against this Alcaraz.

When Alcaraz beats Djoko, I will be quaking in my boots. What I’m seeing is similar to 2008-2010 Nadal. Alcaraz is so fast, so much power, such a strong serve, elite volleying/drop shots/slice.

It’ll be as much as a miracle as Nadal’s win over Medvedev at the AO

He’s serving BIGGER than Djokovic, hitting bigger and better forehands, coming to the net like peak Rafter, better speed, better drop shots, he does it all.

novak has a slightly better return and their backhands are equal. That’s about it.
Let’s see! Young Spanish bull still has it all to prove.

The thing is that his serve was a liability 4 or 5 months ago, the thing that most people pointed as the weaker part of his game. But Alcaraz has evolved so much in just a few months that now, in Wimbledon, it is actually a strength. This is why Djokovic should be very scared. It is likely Djokovic's career will be severely affected by the rise of Alcaraz.

I have never heard of Otte before. Reading the hype on this forum, I was wondering if he was a young upstart like Holger Rune who's taken big scalps.
A quick search reveals he's an almost 30 year old career journeyman who struggles to qualify for grand slams and his career achievement was a lone semifinal at a 500.

Yes, his serve is bullyable. He hit 30 aces in his first round 5 setter, and 8 in his second round straight setter, let's not get carried away. I mean, I know you already have, but dial it back :-D

Yes, exactly. Alcaraz's ROS is far superior to Djokovic's at his age, and hard to match period.

Imo, Djokovic is a far superior tactician let's give that to him. His ROS is still top notch But what make him sepcial is his ability to construct point. Let's see if Djokovic's passive calculated solid defense game hold up against Alcaraz's agression.

Alcaraz might get Covid and not be able to play the QF. Looks like there is a outbreak in Wimbledon.
Is he vaccinated?

Raz serving 129mph is impressive to say the least, he could never hit that with 100 inches
and of course without the extra bulk up in the last year

As the court gets drier looks like Nole will be having big issues if he gets past TVR

Nadal explained testing is voluntary and so is your consent to say you feel ill and was surprised he had this choice now since Berretini, Agut and Cilic consented to testing
These are the new rules and rights since the many challenges on the legal courts. 90-95 per cent have taken the shots.

Wow!!! How is this kid so so comfortable on grass. Looks like he was born to play on grass. He will surely win CYGS in the future when he does not have to contend with Djokodal and needs to deal with mugs

I thought Djoko played well, now I’ve realised how a goat really played in their prime. We haven’t seen this in a very long time.

Alcaraz is the future

This is like if there was no Djoko to stop Nadal, Nadal to stop Fed and Fed to stop Djoko and any other combination you want.

Alcaraz is a threat to every record the big 3 have smashed if he can improve at this rate. The guy has just turned 19 and is making a mockery of elite players
