Some posters thought I was trolling when I said Sharkito will end up at the greatest Spanish player of all time lol.

The guy is just too good, he's probably gonna save Bull's ass this tournament by taking down the Djoker.
How much of a chance does Nadal have if Alcaraz beats Novak here? Only prayer he has is if Alcaraz chokes a slam final due to inexperience. Considering Nadal’s luck, that could still happen lol. But If Alcaraz plays at this level nobody has a chance to be honest.

One thing we can say is Wimbledon is saved and if Djoko beats Nadal and Alcaraz kudos to him. He’ll have earned it

frigging Oscar Otte lol

how Carlos does against some rando in the first week of Wimbledon doesn’t say all that much against how he’d do in a QF against Djokovic

he can win, to be sure, but it’s not anything worth betting on because an RG QF type scenario is still very much within the realm of possibility

But Otte is a seeded player and has been in the SF of Stuttgart and Halle and was playing quite well prior to this

@Kralingen still thinks Nadal has a chance against this Alcaraz.

When Alcaraz beats Djoko, I will be quaking in my boots. What I’m seeing is similar to 2008-2010 Nadal. Alcaraz is so fast, so much power, such a strong serve, elite volleying/drop shots/slice.

It’ll be as much as a miracle as Nadal’s win over Medvedev at the AO

Great win for Carlos.
~ Imagine yourself as a teen learning a new language and then saying it in front of 20,000 people. Sure, he made some mistakes but Nadal did too around the same age. That experience is so positive. I like languages so that gets me excited.

he’s only seeded because of the unusual circumstances surrounding this Wimbledon

also he didn’t play well in this match at all

Huh?! Do you have any sources to back up that wild claim? So random.
I'm just saying Alcaraz is such an exciting player. Hopefully he is fit and able to play.
There is an outbreak for Covid In Wimbledon.
And you know Djokovic/Nadal will play even if infected, but others will not be spared. So Carlos needs to be careful.

Oh, you already have the excuses ready.

It speaks volumes that the only thing people can muster in Djokovic's favor is the idea that Carlos will 'choke' because of the 'pressure'

we've completely moved on from looking at weaknesses in his game, because there are none, and are now pulling out 'mental issues'

bery bery telling, no?
He's a worse server and returner, the kick serve memes won't work on grass, his backhand is is prone to breaking down against flat hitters, yadayada.

He looks ridiculously good playing yolotennis on his hot patches. But other players have had that too and Djokovic isn't one to roll over for that.

It was a reference to your thread where you said Nadal is not a favourite in any tournament as long as Djokovic and Alcaraz are in the draw
hehe I know:p and technically I was right, because Nadal was not favorite at RG according to the betting odds. doesn't mean he can't win anything, just that he won't be favorite with those 2 guys in the draw.

Ottes unorthodox style of play and being a really great fit for grass will throw Alcaraz off who isn't that experienced on grass yet. I have Otte taking this.
Same, also if 19 year old Nadal couldnt get past the third round, Alcaraz won't
Otter in 3 not suitable as a pet sets.
I think Otte has a better chance against Novak than Alcaraz does:D, no disrespect to the boy, but between the quality of his serve, particularly the slicer out wide, and his flat hitting, the dude has more of the basics to help him do the deed.

Alcaraz also struggled big-time with Gojowczyk at the US Open last year, who also hits crazy flat. I know he's come a long way since then, but I doubt it will be easy for him.
otte in 4 sets. hes one of the most in form grass specialists.
It's probably going to be under the roof, so that's going to help his case.
Lil Charlie to be ousted by Otte.
Otte in 4.
His lefty serve will be too much to handle for Carlos
What a start...
Relax, it's just getting started. He could win the first set 6-0 and it still wouldn't be over.
Wow not a single error, just winner after winner from Alcaraz
Great shots by Alcaraz so far.

At least Djokovic now has the opportunity to legitimise this Wimbledon title to some extent if he takes out a decent Alcaraz in the QF which is good and on top of that I just wanna see good tennis and a match between the two is probably the best this tournament has to offer, but at the same time I'm getting a bit nervous about the prospect of that encounter now as a Djokovic fan. I'm still backing Novak (I expect Alcaraz to take care of Sinner) but Alcaraz has some serious weaponry at his disposal. Whether or not he can put it all together on the big stage over 5 sets against Novak remains to be seen. But yeah, this kid is definitely coming.
