I remember when people were using this quote about djokovic dropshotting Nadal at RG 21 like it was all part of the plan, even though basically none of the drop shots were going in. Then when he did it it the following year against a fully healthy Nadal and they weren't going in again, it was back to "WHY IS HE DOING THESE ****ING DROPSHOTS"

He should erase drop shots from his repertoire... 9 out of 10 are rubbish nowadays..

It’s now turned into that match where Fed played that Brit qualifier in like 2017 or something - some guys who’d given up tennis but then came back.

what was his name? Matthew Wilks or something?

Are we hyping up Nick now like we did with Med last year at AO 2021?

Novak can start the match how he wants. Kyrgios will just be unable to return his serve and serve his way out of trouble in the breakers.

I wish I had your confidence because I don't want Nick to win as it would be insulting to the sport of tennis but I still think Kyrgios is more dangerous than people give him credit. He's the underdog and the Brit crowd love that so he'll get crowd support, journeyman or not he's still got one of the most dangerous serves in the game and when Novak is losing a set 6-2 to Norrie, a minor slip against Kyrgios and suddenly breaking back is a daunting prospect.

Norrie is totally overmatched here but I’m happy to see him fighting so hard like in that last game. Feel like he’s really being spurred on by the crowd.

Cam looser and a bit "IDGAF" right now because the situation is so dire. He needed to do this the entire match. I realize that's easier said than done.

Djokovic in 4 at worst. Kyrgios outside the serve just isn't that dangerous.

I personally think Djoker has just been using this tournament to stay in playing shape because hes played so little this year. While winning the slam of course.
Yeah I think this tournament has been a great platform to get his match intensity and fitness back to a top level. It’s been a very beneficial tournament for him. He’s played a lot of long matches and had a few battles a bit like 2018.

my prayers have been answered. djokovic is actually playing nicely, he is hitting offensive groundstrokes and doing stuff now, not just pushing
