If Rafa calls Nick to the net

It's a perfect finish for Wimbledon. Throw out the Russians. They might win and we can't have that. Kyrgios wins, give him the award. Perfect, just like Boris Johnson resigning. Nick can be downing a beer at his talk, two at the presser. Although he has to hurry back to Australia for his court appearance. He is a violent boy.

Injured Nadal is unpredictable as hell and he is super good at improvising. But Kyrgios will win.

found some fun quotes
  • Kyrgios on Djokovic: "He has a sick obsession with being liked. He wants to be liked so much that I can't stand it. It's so cringe-worthy."
  • "I'm sorry but if you (Djokovic) can't beat me you are not the greatest of all time" — KYRGIOS, Nick.
  • Kyrgios on Djokovic "He'll never be the GOAT for me..."
  • Kyrgios says next time he beats Djokovic he'll do Novaks' celebration in front of him...
  • Kyrgios on Murray “His record vs Djokovic is embarrassing. I think he’s so much better than him”
  • Kyrgios on Verdasco "He's the most arrogant person ever."
  • Kyrgios on himself: "I feel I am a genius on the court."
  • Kyrgios on Nadal: "He's my polar opposite. He's super salty when I beat him."
  • Kyrgios on Federer: "The GOAT, and what he's done on all surfaces is amazing."
  • Kyrgios on Nadal: "What Rafa's done is also pretty scary. I know he's won like 11 RG's but he adapted his game to win on grass as well which is crazy."

I've not seen any of their recent battles. Does Nadal adhere to the Nick's serve speed in between points, or does he use his usual tactic of getting the server to wait for him?

He made Nick wait repeatedly in Acapulco, holding up his hand constantly. But that was in 2019.

In 2020 at the AO, Nick said, “I’m ready to serve, how long are we going to wait? I’m ready to serve the ball.

“When he’s serving, he’s controlling the tempo. Why do I have to wait for my serve? Why am I waiting? Why?

“It’s too long between serves, it’s bull****. It’s ridiculous."

All the hysteria about Rafa retiring from the match...of course he'll play and will beat Nick in four.

I agree 100%. Rafa hits him with the old injury rope a dope trick and plays like a man possessed from first point to last.

He may well have a 7mm abdominal tear but Novak had 17mm abdominal tear at 2021 Aussie open and had to play 4 further matches not just 2, in order to lift title.

There is no way Rafa will come out tomorrow unless he is pretty certain he can not only win S/F but has decent shot in final. If Novak somehow loses then watch Rafa springing about like a young deer

Hope Kyrgios jumps on this early and often tomorrow. Throw Nadal out of his usual rhythm. Hopefully the ump actually has the stones to enforce it and give Nadal a time violation if he does indeed take too long while Nick's ready to serve.

This. People are not getting this. The thought of the tear getting worse with two matches left is not happening.

I think so too. He'll never beat Djoko anyway and there's no points to gain and he has more than enough money. Better to hope that Djoko decided not to play USO and then Nadal can maybe win it if he's fit.
He’s a crazy man! The old man is going to play through it. Clearly he thinks he can improve his hampered serve otherwise why even try this with 6 weeks till US

So disappointing. I'm off work tomorrow and was looking forward to having the whole morning to devote to watching this one. Now Novak-Norrie is the only match? Bummer.

Hope Nadal rests up. Still could go undefeated at slams this year lol.
