I bet Fritz must be thrilled

Why does Nadal hate America so much?

He denied the US from having it's first men's Slam semifinalist in years and gave malcontent Kyrgios a pass to the final. If Fritz had a shot at Kyrgios, it's probably even money that he could have won. Nick will be insufferable if he gets the title.

djokovic will end up with the most slams.we all know that.

im so sad for Nadal. but ok, at least there was less posibility for a Fritz final - Kyrgios is the second hottest option besides Nadal in final.

all other players (except Alcaraz and Shappovalov) are totally boring and have the same playstyle. djoko copies

It's going to be a circus act with Nick joking around hitting underarm serves and the Joker being himself. The joker might hit a ball into the crowd or a linesman. Definitely will be arguments too lol

This is the first canceled match thread I participate in.
As this match will not be played now, it has turned into a hypothetical match thread, just like many others in GPPD.

The 2 most despised players in the final. This is what I don't get about tennis... if there is a retirement before the draw is out, a lucky loser backfills. Why don't we use the same logic once the tournament begins. The lucky loser would be the highest seed to lose in the previous round, or the player with best set/game differential, get creative all you want.

no one gets a second chance in a tournament when you lose.

I'm glad that Rafa made a wise decision to withdraw ahead of the semifinal clash with Nick considering the severity of his injury as it'd be an uphill task of winning 2 best-of-five matches in a row against 2 dangerous players.
Rafa is 19-0 in GS this year and he can still extend the winning streak in New York.

He made Nick wait repeatedly in Acapulco, holding up his hand constantly. But that was in 2019.

In 2020 at the AO, Nick said, “I’m ready to serve, how long are we going to wait? I’m ready to serve the ball.

“When he’s serving, he’s controlling the tempo. Why do I have to wait for my serve? Why am I waiting? Why?

“It’s too long between serves, it’s bull****. It’s ridiculous."

Thanks for this. I suspected it may have occurred.
