Ok fair point. She certainly seems level-headed and mature, that is just a lot of financial responsibility for an 18yo!

It really is. Hopefully, she has a team around her that will place her interests before their own while she continues to age into adulthood.

#7 Sabalenka beats #2 Jabeur
#5 Sakkari beats #3 Pegula

The start of what could be like last year where the 4 QFists were actually #8, #7, #6 & #4.

2018 was even worse, the 4 QFists were the bottom 4 seeds. #5 through #8.

Crop the score off the top, most people wouldn't guess who won.

Just read an article on another site titled:
"6 Dollars and They Can’t Sell It’- Dire Situation for WTA Finals in Texas as They Fail to Lure Fans Despite the Presence of American Stars Like Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula"
Sad. Tickets resale price were going for $6 for semi- premium seats. Same seart was around $1k at the Open commented some in Twitter.

Is tennis not popular in Ft. Worth?

Not even a little bit. Plus you have NFL, CFB, NBA, NHL, MLB postseason all in action now too.

Please, don’t look at the sparse crowd (again) for Iga and Daria’s match… sheesh.
I’m super curious to know what the players think when they see the lack of fans.

Yeah, they probably shouldn’t have the desk backdrop being all the fans disguised as empty seats.

This should be rather quick for Iga.

Do they have tailgating at the WTA Finals?

One of them was Sophie Amiach (they referred to her by name) but the other female didn't sound like Lindsay nor Pam.
She said she played Iga in 2018 in ITF challenger and lost 1 & 3.

And the other one is Irina Falconi, she lost 1/3 to Iga in Charleston in 2018. Which channel does she work for?

After Iga’s match TC made a big show of responding to the “haters” about the lack of crowds there and tried to convince us it didn’t matter. So weird.

Garcia finished 2021 ranked #74. She's up to #6 but could very well could finish the year in the top 3 or 4 if she takes this out or goes far.

Roddick lives in Austin, he's pretty well-known there. Helps to have a famous wife too.

Ft. Worth has zero tennis history, & there is virtually no promotion going on. And yes, being in the heart of football season with TCU & the Cowboys doing well isn't helping

I think Andy lives in North Carolina now

^ Aryna/Sakkari is on now.

I did see on Twitter last night that the matches were not on TC+ for the American viewers though.

Commentators were saying she brought in some biomechanics advisor to fix her serve. She does something funky in her racquet drop. I’m surprised she didn’t overhaul it but seems to have gotten over the yips?
