Osaka is playing in Miami! Cannot wait to see what she does on court and after match Q & A! o_O Will she start crying, again? If Osaka wins against Sharma, she faces Kerber! Too much melodrama, like a souped up soap drama SNL tennis skit! LOL! Osaka has moved up in the ranking to #77 now! Osaka is the female version of old Kyrgios.

Pdfs are good, I personally prefer them, but at this stage it's like a Swiss cheese, full of holes, 1/4 of names are missing plus, they take-up 2 pages.
Wikipedia link stays the same, but once you click on the link you will always get up to date information regardless of the stage of tournament.

AA v Shelby looks like a great matchup. I would love to see Danimal Collins with the win here. I can't believe Iga hasn't withdrawn...

Literally every time there's a draw now, a dumb online article appears going "Raducanu handed tough draw in [insert location]", then when you click into it there's an explanation of how she's in the same quarter as Kontaveit and Kvitova (or whoever).

Leaving aside the fact she's unlikely to string 2 wins together right now anyway, why would you ever get a Masters/W1000 with no tough players in your quarter?

Matchups to look out for:

2R:
Osaka v Kerber
Sloane v Pegula
Kenin v Keys
Anisimova or Rogers v Ostapenko

3R:
Svitolina v Bencic
Raducanu v Halep
Osaka v Fernandez (rematch of the USO 3R where Fernandez knocked out then defending champ Osaka)
Keys v Sakkari
Muguruza v Kvitova

"If Swiatek wins the Miami Open she will also be only the third player in this century to win three WTA 1000 tournaments in a row. Serena Williams managed four in a row in 2013 (Miami, Madrid, Rome, Canada) and Martina Hingis won three consecutive titles in Canada, Moscow and Zurich in 2000."

Sad that Arantxa Rus keeps losing. With her lefty game and aggressive shots she has potential to be a great player. She needs a great coach.

I saw maybe half of that match and Rus seemed to me to be quite negative. Very safe rally balls for the most part (she did go more aggresive deep in the third, I'll admit). Watson was more the agressor though and it's not often I'll say that about Heather Watson.

Alexandra Eala (#565), another 16yo teenage phenom from the Philippines received a WC to main draw (previously received WC to qualifying). She'll be taking on the veteran Madison Brengle (#59). This will be Eala's first top-100 opponent.

Not sure many will be talking about Miami this week with Barty’s bombshell. Hope Iga wins the title and justifies why she’ll be the new #1. 20 years old and the soon to be #1, lots of pressure on the kid. Crazy.

I've watched her junior finals, let's see if she can make a noise... I mean Brengle is beatable.

So, did anyone else notice three Wangs on court 3 today?

Xinyu up first
Xiyu up third
Qiang up fourth

I did and texted a friend (who loves Lauren Davis , who one wants was playing)

all the more interesting with Xinyu and Xiyu Wang

SHe has always had the potential and the work ethic, but mentally she has always struggled.

I agree a great coach could really help her. She could be a top-30 player

Didn't watch Eala match. Long ways to go before she's ready for the WTA tour.

The older Fruhvirtova sister, however, just bageled her opponent in set 1

Muchova broke Fernandez again for the 4th time. Serving out match at 6-5. Fernandez faced 3 match points at 4-5.

YES. Well done.
I like Fernandez too, and she will no doubt have a career that eclipses Muchova's, but I would like to see Karolina doing well before she retires.
I think she has at least one big performance in her (maybe a Masters 1000), if she's well rested and focused.
Especially now that the tour is more or less up for grabs.
