I don't think Dallas would have fared any better against Florida. All of their 'star' players disappeared by the end of the playoffs - an all too common theme.

Vegas was repeating if Dallas didn't beat them, since Nichuskin's nose candy affinity made Colorado a zero and Oilers style doesn't work even a little bit against Vegas. No belief from me that Florida wouldn't have just gotten completely pantsed by them again. This looks like Flyers Bobrovsky the last 3 games. And he looked like Flyers Bob the whole cup final last year.

The Oilers don't play anything like they did last year. They have a new coach. And they won the regular season series against Vegas 2-1. Last game was 5-1. So I'm not sure what you're basing this on.

Well regular season definitely doesn't mean anything either, Dallas had lost 9 of 10 against Vegas after being down 0-2. There's no way to know really. Oilers are still a top heavy team that relies on that line scoring a lot of goals, and Vegas is big on minimizing goals. So stylistically it still plays into Vegas' hands. It's all supposition, but mentioning regular season stats aren't relevant either. I am basing it on the style of play, and also the fact Leon has clearly been injured for the last 2 series and is soldiering through it. Also I'd trust Vegas' goalies over Skinner, but he has played well these last three games tbf.
I don't have any dog in a Vegas-Edmonton matchup but Vegas was making the WCF at worst if they beat Dallas.

It doesn't mean much, but it's the best we have. We don't have any other information other than a series from last year when the Oilers played run and gun offense. That coach was fired early this season. Oilers from what I remember lost to Vegas last year largely thanks to dumb penalties leading to Vegas goals and they have an all time great PK this post-season. On top of other ways they have improved. They are way more responsible on defense. Skinner is also probably better now that he isn't in his first real season.
I really don't think any team beats the Oilers if the Oilers are playing their best. But it remains to be seen if they will play that way for game 7.

They're still kind of a run and gun offense imo - not as much as last year, like you said the PK has been immaculate and impressive. But at times Skinner is still a sieve and Darnell Nurse/Ceci gets pretty habitually abused. I don't think it would have been as one sided as last year but styles definitely make matchups in NHL and I think Vegas would have been a frustrating draw for Edmonton. They play similarly to Florida and for a while there it was looking real one sided. But McDavid is on one right now and Skinner has really stepped up, so kudos to them. I still think Game 7 is pretty 50/50 though, extremely hard to beat a team 4 times in a row. Should be a good one. I am glad I didn't have to find out if Vegas was going to repeat.

If Florida loses, Maurice leaves, multiple coaches get fired, half the players leave anyways, whole front office shut down, team sold, relocated to Houston and we never speak of this abomination of a franchise ever again.
Most of that wasn’t true. But coaches getting fired and a big chunk of their team leaving, that part is true.

It’s hard but Florida has made zero adjustment since Game 3. Knoblach completely figured them out + Skinner is doing gods work. Florida has no way to break through the EDM PK, no way to stop them on the PP, no way to stop a breakaway, nothing. Verhaeghe I mean this guy is horrible. He is horrible. Idk what happened but he is just lost this entire series.

Yep same way Dallas ultimately met its death - couldn't score a PP goal, couldn't stop a PK. Really should have found a way to win Game 1- you lose 8 game 1's in a row eventually you will pay the piper - you'll play a game you outplay your opponent in and still lose (which is exactly what happened, with Game 6 being that disgusting 35-10 shot game or whatever it was and losing). Same deal with the Mavericks, they kept losing Game 1's and eventually you'll pay for it.
Maybe they still lose even if they won Game 1, and Edmonton beating Dallas and now possibly Florida 4 times in a row is incredibly impressive. Especially since like I said Leon is 10000 percent injured and has been since at least the Dallas series. No way a dude that good is going 0-fer in goals this long. I think his hand is injured. I know at this time of year half of each team is carrying some kind of injury, but that's one guy you really don't want to be hampered. But somehow they are persevering, and I really respect them as an opponent, as bummed as I was to get to within 2 wins of the final again and losing.
