what if non asian wants to play?

Good question. Is there an Asian country that you would like to help represent? Feel free to email the POC address above. Are you interested in signing up?

What about Taiwan?

From my understanding, the other Asian countries will be combined in the United Nations team. My Cambiodian friend told me he will be playing the Open court. Are you interested in signing up?

I'm not in the VA area. Otherwise, I would sign up. Record some video!

Team format has be confirmed. Each country representatives will play all five courts against another country at the same time. Each court level listed above in the OP.

Is this really a thing? Just seems problematic on many levels esp no mention of Taiwan. I'm not in the US but do you have black tournaments, indian euros etc?

You're taking it way too seriously, it's probably a bunch of friends who want to have a tournament. There has been an Asian tournament in Houston for years and years (anyone can enter it) and I also know about Vietnamese tournaments and Filipino tournaments in Texas as well. Also the American Tennis Association (ATA) which is primarily African American has been around since 1916, and has tournaments for their members. Past Champions include Arthur Ashe, Althea Gibson, and Rodney Harmon.

I have seen Asian basketball groups. The logic was that Asians were short and could not have fun when tall guys were playing. But not a tournament.

I am a member of a Vietnamese tennis group I think. I clicked by mistake and was accepted.

I agree this is problematic on many levels, especially with the use of the facility and involvement of sponsors. Renaming it to "International and US tournament" and still maintaining the categories might be a compromise.

It's not problematic as all, I doubt they exclude anyone who wants to play from participating. I'm pretty sure there are Cricket leagues in Texas that are for the most part made up of players from India and South Asia.

There are cricket leagues right where I live. That is not the point, neither is it about who plays. It is the name.

It should have been something more along the lines of Asian Games Tennis Tournament. It used to be part of the Mid-Atlantic Asian Games.

This tournament last year seemed to be unaffiliated as they just reached out to the local Asian tennis communities and organizations.
