He will have no choice but to face at least one if he wants this title.
 
Good thing Djokovic won that first match. You can never really trust Alcaraz not to suddenly find peak form and win a tournament.
It's a dangerous game to wait for him to falter.
 
Zverev's serve is what is keeping him competitive here, because his forehand has hurt him.

Can he now push on in this second?

It drives me barmy that Zverev has such an exploitable FH and Tsitsipas has an exploitable backhand. Both of them would be so much better as players if they had each other's FH/BH respectfully.

And same with Medvedev on fh and Thiem on bh. We got 4 imperfect players post lost gen of Dimitrov Nishikori Raonic.

First complete player I see is alcaraz.
 
Zverev looking stronger of the two. But it's also Zverev who is mugger of the two

Although Zverev did impress me in USopen 2023 the way he fought sinner, he shouldn't even have been pushed to five there. I guess if Zverev can continue his level, he should win now. But he rarely does.
 
Zverev as usual, playing much better when behind in the match and takes the second set! I almost hope Alcaraz gets the break first in the 3rd set, Zverev stands a better chance then!
 
We are now entering the world of Z. His time has come.

But really, Alcaraz is a completely different player on this surface when compared with the rest of of his year, it is giving shades of Nadal. Zod should just Seagal him and go home.
 
If Raz gets knocked out in rr with just 1 win, he will end up with 8655 pts and with 0 wins 8455.

Medvedev is on his heels with 7200 ranking pts. If medvddev performed better than raz he would close the gap by at least 500 pts and get into spitting distance. Both have almost no pts from AO and both defend a ton before clay season starts post AO.

Nole can get 2000+ lead here and then it would take AO win by one of them to take the ranking from Nole. Otherwise Nole will lead easily till I don't even know when, probably RG.
 
Strongest servers in ATP finals. Zverev to me belongs to top 3 with tsitsipas and Medvedev. Alcaraz probably same as Rublev. Both at the bottom.
 
Maaan, Carlos needs to go somewhere far away from tennis the next month and a half or so. Those batteries need a reset in the worst way.
I have to keep reminding myself that he's only 20 but this is still disappointing from him ever since Cincinnati really.
