Court looks slow to me..grinders paradise
good luck hitting winners on novak on this surface. on the other hand, medvedev must be a nightmare under these conditions..

What makes you think Medvedev likes slow conditions?

because he is a human wall. retrieves everything and returns it deep. must be fun to try and hit a winner here on him, like scoring a winner on Nadal 15 years ago on RG

Great serving , clutch - by Matteo.
Impressed with Andy, he has his second serve back - 150-160 km/t - and moving well.
He really is a very complete player when he plays like this, strong off both wings - He might not take Matteo out
but playing like this there is no reason he cant get back into the top20.

Berrettini is a fighter, I respect that. His game has serious holes but mentally I like that he isn’t a mug, he stands up to be counted. 5th set incoming… Murray will be rueing his chances.

Bottom line with this match is that Andy gives Matteo too many FHs.
Don’t know about that. Matteo’s entire game is based on trying to take everything on his forehand side, so it’s not easy to keep it away from that wing.

I think the difference in the fourth set is that Murray’s 1st serve effectiveness started dipping and Berry’s is increasing.

Drawing blood first, then drawing even with Sir Andy.

Going 5!

Very entertaining match; not the highest quality overall but Matteo has pulled his game together after being totally off boil for the first two sets.

I agree it's not easy but Andy's CC BH just has no penetration and no angle.

It's really interesting watching post-prime Murray. You can see so much of prime Murray at times, but it's blatantly obvious how he's declined.

Berrettini's BH is less of a complete tragedy than I remember it being in the (northern) summer majors last year but it's clearly still not something he can trust in leverage situations.

Besides the bunched arms, Berrettini's backhand seems like a timing problem. He bends his knees and gets down but comes out of this knee bend to early during his follow through. He has all those backhands where his torso is relatively upright and he misses it at the tape.
