He had serious problems for about 3/4 games. Nole can beat any Grigor, Berdich, Cilic, Raonic with one leg. But later in tournament, specifically againts Rune, Sinner, FAA type players, he won't stand a chance, so he better invents new magic potions for recovery

A few years someone here on this forum said Dimitrov has a higher peak than Egg at the AO even though I can be totally wrong

I voted Grigor in 5 against my best judgement…
Grigor is stilll the most talented of his generation

To have a chance to beat Djokovic here, it will need to be a day match in extremely warm humid conditions. And with Djokovic playing considerably below his best level.

Badly injured yet takes a fake MTO and then is playing perfectly fine for the next 2 sets and proceeds to crush his opponent like a joke. LOL
Did you watch the same match? Djokovic could barely move properly on the BH side. He said as much in the presser at end. It was tough to watch.

Grigor is a step up on his first opponents so will target that side more and make him run more on that left leg side.

I’m not thinking about this event. I just want djoko to stay health and avoid further damage.

He will be fine bro. Dimi is a mug.
Novak deserves to make history here with #10 and #22.
The only player who would have been scary for Novak is not even playing in this tournament : Alcaraz.

Holger Rune is somewhat of a threat to be honest, guy is looking in great shape so far.
Rune and Alcaraz showed they could beat Djokovic at the back end of Masters at least - so some chance they can do damage in Slams. The rest of the field needs to hope he's seriously injured and/or some way off his game to lose at the AO

Even I'm a huge Djokovic fan, but I don't think this injury is as serious as some think it is.
Is there an injury? Yes. He isn't faking. But if he can grind and baggel opponents like he did in the 1st 2 rounds, it can't be that painful.
He was struggling during his practice with Medvedev and was fine against RCB. Struggling again against EC so who knows about the next round. Nobody knows how this match will play out. With 48h of rest, a bandage and some painkillers, maybe he'll be ready.
Even if he's injured and plays agressive/relaxed like he did today, I'm not sure guys like Dimitrov or De Minaur can beat him.

And I doubt it will be a day match. The top seeds in this part of the draw (Ruud, Fritz, Zverev) are all gone. I doubt Rune/Humbert or De Minaur/Bonzi would get the NS on the RLA. Tiley wants to bring as many people as he can for these NS.

This, Djoko in whatever it takes, most likely 3-4

So how did he end up finishing the match with a BH cc winner then if he could barely move

If he didn't gift that tiebreaker with a terrible approach shot at 3-0 this would have been an easy 3 set win.

Good post. But Rune is HORRIBLY inconsistent and done NOTHING at slam level.
His beating of Novak in Masters was a fluke UNLIKELY to be repeated anywhere again, least of all, slams.

I just don’t get how people can say he’s faking or it’s not that bad. Even Djokovic himself stated it’s a real problem for him and the leg isn’t good at all. You could see how worried him and his team were during the match and after as well.

Agree, except Djokovic isn't injured. He is injured in the same way Nadal is often "injured" only (aka not at all).
Thanks for the input new user. I’m going to say that he is still mostly himself - it’s a minor discomfort and not a big injury, but to act like he’s not injured at all is just utter denial of reality. If he was fit he’d be comfortable sliding to the BH wing. He hasn’t done that once since Adelaide.

Yeah and I will be laughing at any of you that believe he is "injured" when he is winning the title (a no brainer final outcome, despite his supposed horrid injury, LOL!)

This match would be the first true test. If Djokovic wins in 3, be rest assured #10 is his for the taking. If it takes 4, we will see him in the finals. If it takes 5, Rune will end the campaign for Djokovic.
