You guys are in for a surprise if you think this will be a blowout win for Djokovic...

Paul will make Djokovic work for it, very measured strokes. He also has a big serve. Reminds me a bit of Medvedev

Exactly right. Novak said in his presser that Tommy is in the form of his life past few months. He has beat some very good players this event. He also dealt well with Shelton’s power, served well and hit well on both BH and FH.

He has no pressure and its better for him that he hasn’t faced Novak before. As Novak will take time to work out his game. It will be a good match and I just hope novaks leg/hamstring doesn’t bother him. The main thing for Novak is he can stay health as possible. We will see.

Paul has got nothing to lose, and is coming into the match with confidence. Could be a dangerous opponent

I'd like to think Paul takes a set off of him if he continues to serve really well. You get in a tiebreak and anything can happen. But maybe just wishful thinking. I don't see Djokovic losing this match.
You get in a TB with Djoko and then you lose it. Paul needs to win with a break to win a set. Fat chance of that happening imo

This is a joke semifinal for novak. if he's really injured, it should go 5 sets,, but then we all know Novak is faking it

I think people are mistakenly thinking Djokovic is not injured bc he has been dominating so far. He never said his hamstring was so badly injured that he could barely move.

He is just that much better than the rest of the draw. Nobody has really pushed him much and made him run much. Plus he has one of the most accurate serves currently in the ATP.

It could be a disadvantage he never played him as well.

Novak should take care of business but yea wouldn't surprise me in the least if it doesn't turn out to be a blowout.

Is he? I've never seen him play a real sport. I saw him boxing a couple of times and he was slow and clumsy.

Slow and clumsy compared to professional opponents? His boxing for his experience level is quite good, he is a former all-state wrestler, and the speed with which he took to WWE performance art is elite.

Like you were confident Rublev was going to make him work for it?

After slaying the Minotaur and the Kraken our hero must face the guardian of hell in his quest to find the most precious treasure. No one can predict what will happen next.

That means nothing to Novak. the man can break down anyones weakness in the matter of minutes and pummel that weakness into submission for 3 quick sets. I route for TP but I dont see how he wins this unless Novak falls apart like in the US OPen 2 years ago.

Paul’s biggest strength is baseline consistency and smart tactical play. He does a good job absorbing pace, returning, not making mistakes and coaxing his opponents into errors (see his wins against Raz, Zverev, Sinner, Nadal recently). He is a legitimate good athlete, a very good defender, has a smart service game.

But his FH is not an elite shot, and he’ll ultimately be unable to hurt Djokovic consistently.

I feel like he’ll win more games than Ruble and De Minaur, but a set seems highly optimistic.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tommy Paul wins one of first 2 sets but unless Novak's injury starts causing him issues again I would expect him to win with bit to spare.

I like Tommy Paul. He seems like a calm guy on the court and he's been a bit of a late bloomer on the tour after winning the junior French Open. I'd love to see an American man get to the singles final of a Slam tournament this year, so I am rooting for Paul in that regard.

All that said, there is not a single thing that Paul does better than Djokovic. He basically plays the exact same style as Novak, but not as well. Unless Djokovic has a debilitating injury or has his worst day of tennis this year, I don't think Paul will be able to win. But there is always a chance...

It'd have been a different matter with a healthy Djokovic and weak competition. But no way novaks losing when injured and this strong era. Voting for paul retd after receiving a bagel and breadstick.:)

No. Just slow and clumsy. He lost to a YouTuber.
Bad Bunny, Ronda Rousey and Stephen Amell all did the WWE thing too and did it pretty well.

Could this be the hardest match of the tournament for Djokovic?

He will just have to moonball Titz backhand to win the final.

Don't see that cutting it here.

Really hope Tommy can at least make somewhat of a match out of it...

Alex and Rublev were yuck despite how well Djok was playing...
