Awesome job by Magda Linette! She is such down to earth person, finally getting at least some recognition. And my autographed shoes grow in value by every match... :)

I've watched about 4 games and overlong toilet break of Sukic and I think I have seen enough of this.
Changing to Kostyuk/Ruse- Hunter/Mertens doubles, I'm sure there's better tennis and at least two easy on the eyes players - Vekic definitely is not one of those.

Are you happy Alycia Parks starts to gain some results? very unfortunate she lost in the quallies, she should've competed instead of being on the bench on week 1 united cup.

Reading the comments about that Sabalenka-Vekic match, I'm sensing strong "Ostapenko-Sharapova 2018 US open 3rd" vibes about it.

I've seen my fair share of tennis matches and a bunch of good ones at that, but my mind chose to remind this monstrosity instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@FakeEmpire just drops back in after 4 months, welcome.

Adult life (as in being in your 30 working while still being an intern) sucks to the highest degree, is all I've to say (notwithstanding some fantastic people I've meet along the way).

Gosh, I can't believe Ostapenko was so thin and wore just a standard Adidas dress back then.

Is this the time where everything finally clicks into place for Sabalenka?
She has obliterated her section of the draw so far - no uncomfortable moments at all except maybe the first set against Bencic. Will need to focus in against Magda Linette though, the Pole is having a dream run and has this ability to make you play that extra ball

This AO outfit wasn't that bad. Not great, but it isn't so avant-garde-we-might-not-be-able-to-understand-it as that pink and black checkered one she wore last year. That was an absolute abomination.

Meanwhile, I'm seeing Radwanska's name in today's schedule, as a legend. That exquisite match of hers against Azarenka seems like yesterday, Azarenka is still competing and yet here we are. My heart hurts.

Certainly hope so! Linette when she's on is dangerous for players like Sabs.

Azarenka doing her Eurosport cube (indoor green screen) in sunglasses, LOL... looks like her off-season cycle went very well.

Why ask about just Parks? Because of that nothing based claim that I'm some kind of Racist? :-D Parks - and also Muhammad - are gorgeous ladies - prefer both well before somebody like Vekic - but both are quite one dimensional players. If they game is not effective, then there's never a plan B. I watched Parks-Bejlek in the qualies (was excited to see Bejlek's coach's means of congratulations if she wins  ) and in that match Parks didn't impress with her game and Bejlek is not even top three of young Czechs. But if Parks is about to reach the top - cool. The more serious contenders for GS-trophies the better.

Azarenka has been positive surprise in this tournament. Getting the break now? That would make the match more interesting.. .

As great of a serve as Rybakina has, she doesn't get her 1st serve in as much as you'd like. Over the last 52 weeks, she's gotten just 55.5% of her first serves in which is bottom 5 among the WTA's top 50 players. It's an elite 2nd serve, but Azarenka still has to take advantage of the 2nd when given the opportunity.

Seen in the Rybakina box: the same greying gentleman with a receding hairline that is regularly in both Korda and Tsitsipas boxes. Must be a very successful agent if all three of them are giving him a cut from AO’23.

Isn't that guy a doctor?

Very poor service game from Rybakina while serving for the set (over 10 points and not a single first serve in), but was pretty clutch after being 0-40 in this service game. Hope she keeps her composure.

If Azarenka loses the match, she'll think back to that 11th game. So many chances. Wouldn't be shocking for Rybakina to find her rhythm again.
