Why ask about just Parks? Because of that nothing based claim that I'm some kind of Racist? :-D Parks - and also Muhammad - are gorgeous ladies - prefer both well before somebody like Vekic - but both are quite one dimensional players. If they game is not effective, then there's never a plan B. I watched Parks-Bejlek in the qualies (was excited to see Bejlek's coach's means of congratulations if she wins  ) and in that match Parks didn't impress with her game and Bejlek is not even top three of young Czechs. But if Parks is about to reach the top - cool. The more serious contenders for GS-trophies the better.

Azarenka has been positive surprise in this tournament. Getting the break now? That would make the match more interesting.. .

no, I noticed you support Parks way back then before she broke the top 100.

I admire Vika's fighting spirit, but those come-ons and fist-pumps every time after winning a point are a bit annoying.

Well Elena, that took about 25 minutes longer than necessary.
Lol, she is tense, something we haven't really seen from her in the previous rounds. Still managed to finish this set, which is good sign.

Wow, Great memory NKP! (y) Nowadays I'm supporting great many players but also have a clear nr 1 favorite - unlike last year - that comes from Czech Republic. Where else she would be!? :D

So, Ryba takes the first set. A pity that Azarenka played not-too-impressive tie-break.

this must be really frustrating for Vika, she finally leveled the set but lost in the TB, and Rybakina didn't even have serve!

It's quite sad that for women's tennis, being pretty goes a long way. These are two champions who probably don't share the same spotlight as Emma for example.

Rybakina back to her customary serving pace and effectiveness, it doesn't look great for Vika.

Rybakina's coach was very "negative" in the exchange, it looks all complaint and blaming her poor play etc, but according to BT sports, that's the (positive) energy she needed, her coach said in an interview, feeding her the energy?!

Yeah, looked very odd to me, such approach would usually elicit a completely opposite reaction, but maybe it works for Elena?
