Sabalenka leads the H2H against Rybakina 3-0, although all 3 matches went to 3 sets with Rybakina winning the middle set.
Ryakina leads the H2H against Linette 1-0, but it was also a 3 setter.

Ryba through to the final, the other two girls don't have the nuance of Vika, and they don't have Vika's on court "antics" either, they can't bother her, Sabalenka has a tiny chance here but I think Ryba is going to win AO.

The poll in this thread lists Gauff who has never done anything at a major, but not Rybakina who is the reigning Wimbledon champion?

Oops, never mind. Looks like she made 2022 FO finals

Those two posts above back-to-back are funny.

lol, Vika's "antics" are borderline on hindrance, her repeated "come on" "I got this"... you could argue she was talking to herself and pumping herself up, but she talks so loud on purpose so her opponent can hear them. Other players step up and attack the ball to send the message, Vika sending the message with her mouth too.

@JJGUY, I was mostly referring to the bolded. Vika has always been Vika.

I'm not convinced Saba has the mental fortitude to win a major. She may wind up being another Safina.

Yea I think there is some rewriting of history here. Vika has not really been relevant for years. She won her grand slams 10 years ago now. Its not like she has been tearing up the tour. I dont really know if one can judge Ryba by a win like this. Her overall body of work sure. But beating ViKa isnt anything special. Many ladies have been doing it for a long time.

Instant IQ test for players that question Hawkeye calls.
As someone who knows couple of tennis umpires I can assure you, the Hawkeye is not 100 % accurate. It is accurate with the most of the calls, but not always. We’ve discussed a case when the ball was 1 meter out, and the system called it in.

Ah ah ah, Radwanska's face! Must be having some bad flashbacks about all those times she got hit out of the court by players just like Sabalenka.

^ How? :D

Came to mind that I never heard anything about Aryna back when she was junior and checked that she was at her best 225th on junior ranking!!! And Magda also only 23rd.

I understand that. But all close calls are final and getting hanged up on it means... see my first post.

They all are final if you don’t have a line judge, there’s no review or challenge, and even if the call is obviously wrong there’s not much a player can do.

7-6, 6-2 Sabalenka takes it and thus 'heavy firepower'-final becomes reality. I would gladly see other type of players in the coming GS finals too.

Sabalenka played good match according to numbers. Winners clearly exceeded UEs.

Had a massive day and then slept through both matches.

How did Rybakina look?
What about Vika? Just outplayed?

And the big one for me, how was Sabalenka? Can she do it and defeat Rybakina?

Too bad for Azarenka; I'm not sure she will ever be able to add that extra something to her game to win another major, in consideration of her age.

Sabalenka: at the start of this AO I said I would like to see her win the title, and now she's one match away. She's showing a fierce style of play and determination for some time now, and I hope it pays off in the final. Women's tennis needs her to make a statement at this point in history.
