The positive I can see for Novak is that he is keeping it close despite playing horribly.

This is worst he has looked off the ground in some time, and he looks heavy-legged and mentally not dialled in.

There is something about North American hardcourt that brings out the “weird” in Djokovic at the darndest times.

I'd say it's more like finally playing guys who can hang with him and Zverev when he plays well is one of the very few.

This is the match Djokovic needed, the other matches while gave him some play on HC didn't allow him and us to see what his real level is. Regardless of the outcome of this match, he will have a solid indication of where he is heading into USO, as he is being tested here.

Wondering if he’s under the weather at all. He keeps going to the tissue during the change over. Looks just a little sluggish. But Zverev serving 78% can do that as well.

Agree. I’m surprised more people aren’t noticing that he looks out of sorts. He is still very much in the match but it’s a very unusual level from him so far.

@dking68 what are your predictions for Sinner now at US Open? From what I remember you thought he needed that top four seeding to secure his own quarter, but do you think he is still most likely a QTR finalist at a minimum?

I really don’t know @Subway Tennis at this point. Zverev is playing great, Medvedev and Alcaraz not so much. But I do think he’s due for a breakthrough, but let’s see. I think he makes at least the quarters yes
