I would prefer Alcaraz wins because i’m still salty about AO 2022 but i don’t care much either way. Salt all around for me because of other external factors.

Alcaraz certainly has the tools to beat Medvedev. He will be forced to think and play a lot more than he was against Sinner. And if he donates errors in bunches Medvedev will eat him alive.

Thinking Medvedev wins this one in 3. Intriguing matchup for sure.

I think this comes down to good Med returns first serves. The X factor will be how comfortable Alcatraz is serving and volleying. If Francis was a better serve/volleyer, he probably would have won today. Med was standing so far back that any kick serve would have gotten anyone a few feet in front of the service line.

Definitely a 60s Weed “For All The Marbles” match. 20 match win streak if Med gets medieval on the teen. Alcaraz can pass Joe Kovic for #1 briefly before his Miami’22 points fall off. It will give him an extra 400 point leg towards reclaiming the top spot in Miami. If he’s healthy enough for the Sunshine Double gauntlet.

Med will tantrum up a bit in the first set before settling himself down and edging Alcaraz in three. The mad lad is 17-9 in Bo3 finals, the most recent of those losses going back to Halle’22. Since then, Alcaraz is just 1-3 in Bo3 finals.

Glad to see them both reaching the final. Of all the younstars from the last two (lost) generations, these two have shown the world they are capable of keeping it together to deliver when it matters the most, thus are the only guys with majors in their pocket.
Med's willingness to stay behind and torture his opponents with the defense vs Alcaraz's offensive mindset and all-court skills is a nice contrast of styles and thus fun to watch.

It's the classic of aggressive baseliner vs counter puncher/grinder.

Alcaraz needs to hit deep, dictate rallies and keep using the drop shot as Medvedev at times can stand miles behind the baseline.

Medvedev needs to grind Alcaraz down like a peppercorn, force errors, get into slugfests which Daniil loves. Medvedev is on a 19 match winning streak also, could he run out of gas?

The big problem for others is that Alcaraz is still so young and is still improving significantly. This game with enormously hard blows interrupted by very unpleasant stop balls, wears down his opponents

Looking forward to this and hoping it’s a cracker! Medvedev in 3. I really like Alcaraz and love watching him play, his style and variety is exciting to me, but I’m a Meddy fan and when you’re a fan…….well, you know!

Charles to win. His game style is not a good fit for Medvedev; the Spaniards variety will make sure that the Russian can’t find the rhythm, which is key for him. The drop shots and the net game will tame Med.

They mentioned in the women's broadcast that if Med wins today, it will be his 19th title - and 19th different title. That's sort of nuts. To win that much but never have repeated as champion at any tournament yet.
