So, the first meeting between the champion of Indian wells 2023 and the champion of Indian wells 2022, both also happen to be the Spanish number one & the USA number one.

Alcaraz has straight setted all 3 of his previous opponents in straight, including 2 consecutive bagels in first 2 matches. Fritz defeated Holger Rune in straights but it was a match full of errors.

How do you think the match will unfold? Will Fritz Snap Alcaraz's 9 match &/or 18 sets winning streak? Will Alcaraz go through in straights?

Vote and discuss.

I’ve been voting Slim Charles in 3 in every prediction thread and I’ve been wrong every time; Fritz, take this opportunity to grab a set buddy, might be a rare one.

Honestly see this going 3. If Fritz has a high serving percentage and hits big on these fast courts then he can win, but I lean towards Alcaraz. But Alcaraz’s dream of a sunshine double will come to an end in the semifinals where I personally believe he’s losing to Sinner on these fast courts. Sinner won’t give him any time for any variety and he won’t be able to run down as many balls as he did on the slow courts at IW

I'd love to see Sinner beating Alcaraz and winning the title. I think it would be a great timing to boost his confidence and self-belief and help him progress even further.

Yeah same, as a fan I think it’s time now to win a masters or else people will seriously think of him as a gatekeeper

But he would need to beat Medvedev in the final, right? That could be challenging as well, if the conditions are indeed noticeably faster.

But isn’t he tired from all the tennis he has played all month? It must catch up someday. But I believe Sinner can still win

Yeah, I believe Sinner can win. But he didn't beat Medvedev yet - and then doing so in a final on a hardcourt, it's going to be difficult.
But uhm .. he first has to beat Ruusuvuori and Alcaraz, maybe Fritz. So we'll see! Fingers crossed! :)

This could be his breakthrough.. He has only lost to either the finalists or champions of each tournament this year. He has knocked on the door enough and the floodgates will soon open

Lol why do Rafito fans (other than a few) dislike Carlos so much?
Buy a clue dude! I don't dislike Carlos. I'm American and tend to root for Americans.

I doubt if "Rafito" (whoever the hell that is) fans dislike Carlos half as much as you think they do since you have very limited skills of perception.

Clueless as usual.

You made an ass out of yourself and now you're doubling-down. Enjoy

What is it with this place and the continued obsession with the big 3? I left for 4 years came back and you're all still posting the exact same threads and having the exact same arguments.

All I watch are the new guys. BTW ... I never was a Rafa fan if that's who that stupid name was supposed to be.

Hopefully Carlos in straights although I wouldn’t be surprised to see Taylor mounting a real challenge. Not taking anything for granted given his draw. Meantime Meddy gets a total free pass to the final

I'm 0-1 so far today. Of the last 3 I'm hoping for Fritz, Kvitova and neutral for the Sinner, Ruuu match.

I have a feeling I'm going 0-3 for the day, ah well it's happened before. I hate that it doesn't start until 8:30 PM tonight, if it's a 3 hours + match I'll be dragging tomorrow.

This is no shot at him (obviously he has no control over it) but Medvedev’s draws have a habit of seeming incredibly soft more than most top players. Maybe it’s just USO 21 clouding my memory but even IW it felt like he beat nobody in particular outside of Zverev. His AO 21 run to the final was pretty easy also. It isn’t always true of course but I constantly feel like his half is barren for some reason

I know what you mean. Some players always seem to draw the tough opponents and others the opposite.

Obviously this won’t encompass everything but we can take a look at how many matches he has played against the top 10 against the top five. It would be even more insightful if we could look at how many he face during his total runs or during the ATP world tour finals sine those aren’t draw dependent.

Some comparisons:

Meddy: 67 vs top 10, 35 vs top 5
Chainz: 93 vs top 10, 40 vs top 5 (has played about 90 more matches than Meddy)
NickK: 68 vs top 10, 39 vs top 5 (has played about 80 fewer matches than Meddy)
Rublev: 48 vs top 10, 26 vs top 5 (has played about 30 fewer matches than Meddy)
Sinner: 35 vs top 10, 20 vs top 5 (has played about 200 fewer matches than Meddy)
Greek Philosopher: 71 vs top 10, 41 vs top 5 (has played about 20 fewer matches than Meddy)

I think part of that is due to seeding but it tracks. Med loses so early in clay tournaments that it really deflates his metrics. And with such MUG draws as well - go look at RG 22, Wim 21, USO 21/22, it’s really so open for him.

So true, I come here for the laughs, but the endless meaningless GOAT debates, hysterical screaming from basement dwellers
that reduce the signal to noise ratio to very low sometimes, makes me want to find a different way to enjoy watching tennis.
The quality of posts here is surprisingly good compared to other places - but that's not saying much !

But there are some funny guys here, and it's a shame when they leave probably for same reasons you did !
Like all social media this place is adictive, everything in moderation. I wonder about the lives of the Bionic posters...

Seriously?
The match was supposed to begin at 1:30 am, I woke up in the middle of the night at around 2:00 and yet found its raining even at 2:30.
Looks like I'm cursed and won't be able to watch Alcaraz matches at Miami this year.
Re-Goodnight folks.

I tough nobody was gonna say it... i just discover it, im spanish, so i wasnt used to peanut butter in any form, some years ago nobody sold that here, a supermarket just started to sell one peanut butter that is free of bad oils and chemicals, just mashed peanuts, and i have a shaker, as i dont like to eat in the morning, i discovered that if i put in the shaker, milk, coffe, sugar, and a big fat spoonful of peanut butter, the coffe turns very creamy and tasty, and i can go trough my morning full of energy without eating anything else

Sounds disgusting :-D Having said that, there are lots of foods I like that most people loathe. Enjoy!

At least the match is at midnight here now so I think I can manage to stay up for it now, whereas I didn’t bother last night.
