So here we go, 2nd ever meeting between these two. Their first match was at Paris master's last year and Alcaraz won that one easily in straights, 1 & 3.

How do you see this one unfolding?

Alcaraz has survived a scare against Emil Russovori in the first match (Round of 64), while Dimitrov has queezed out a couple of tight sets in tiebreakers against a French qualifier G. Barrere.

I am really happy with Carlos's improved serve this year! There is still room for even more improvement but he has really worked on it and stepped it up! He won 75% of his service points. I also love how few double faults he has been making (zero in this particular match). I would like for him to have a match where he doesn't get broken at all but for the most part (except for the Ruusuvuori match) he has been getting broken only once a match. He is at 25-2 for 2023, so he is clearly playing great and with far greater consistency, which was the area I was most hoping he would work on with his team, and he has done so! Now my goal for him is to work on preventing injuries going forward and of course to continue to improve all of the already great aspects of his game.
