This match is meaningless imo - this kid does not have a good record on outdoor hard. I remain that he’s not an ATG until I see something significant on outdoor hard

Good news for Nole fans:

I've watched every single match of Holger's since July, 2022. He's tiring, feeling it in his quads and when he gets tired, he fades mentally very quickly. Watch him dragging his leg, he's close to done. I think Novak takes the third quite comfortably unless he just collapses, which he hasn't done since the USO final against Med.

You just said again awhile ago he was a POS and playing like garbage. You did the same thing in his prior match. Now he's an ATG. Bipolar TTW at its apex. ;)

8 minutes off court for the Serb.
When he plays crap he is very bad. He has a low floor and has been horrendous for nearly 4 months. Am I not allowed to state the obvious? However, his ceiling when he’s locked in is very very promising indeed. That level he’s shown moves me. The eyes never lie. Just a matter of bringing it consistently

What exactly shall I say about your beloved boy?

I know he was struggling before and I hope the kid well but not vs Nole.
This matchup is going bad for Nole now. If it goes 1-3 then we would have a new rival and we dont' want that.

If you have to be the best, you have to beat the best.

Any amount of Rune / Sinner / Alcaraz victories won't count much, if they aren't able to drag Djokovic out after beating him at his age.

Add to it - He should not have been allowed to win 3 slams in a year by this gen.

I am ultra happy for Djokovic, but it doesn't look well for even this gen

Rune passed a couple of clutch tests. For one, he saved a match point. Secondly, he won a tiebreaker against the best tiebreak player in history. But the 3rd test is the ultimate. Can he win a deciding-set against the most clutch deciding-set player in history?

As for Djoker, he never tanks matches. That's one big reason why he has the highest match winning pct in ATP history. Last year, he had the WTF semis clinched. But he got into an epic RR match vs Medvedev where both players were on fire. That was arguably the best match that I saw last year. I gained more respect for Djoker when he battled that hard. I know that a lot of his fans wanted him to tank that "meaningless" match. But that is not in Djoker's blood. Stone-cold killers don't let their prey escape, even when they can afford to.

Veering from "he's totally the sh-ttiest player ever" to "he'll be an ATG" is extreme. Expect better from you, that's all. ;) Every player goes through slumps, it was Holger's Sophomore jinx like Fed had. He's only 20 and he just won a TB against Djokovic, that alone shows his heart and his skill. And his vast, vast potential.

Should have played similar last year. He would have gone undefeated after RG. I don't count LC. But at least today he won't relinquish.

I've believed Rune to be a multislam champion despite the ridiculous lows of his. He'll get there eventually. Boris man to do wonders!

I have really enjoyed the tactical battle between them. Great chess match.
Fun match for me too, even in a losing effort (in all likelihood) for my guy. Djoker just too solid and steady, mentally and physically. I'm happy Holger won a TB against tiebreak GOAT and continued to battle. No bratty drama, no crying to mommy, a solid and professional approach on every point. Boris is one hell of a mental coach!
