It is kind of crazy to think that if he does go on to win RG this year, He will have won 6 of the last 10 slams and he was banned from playing at 2 of them. We're a long way from him winning it this year though but signs looking good, he's moving and hitting well today.

All eyes will be on Djokvoic, Alcaraz, Sinner, Rune and Medvedev, eager to see which of these 5 fellows get eliminated before the QF.

On the flip-side, hitting this flat has been a downside on clay in recent years, his weight of shot went down in 2022-2023 compared to 2019-2021.

If this were Novak from 2 years ago, you could put your house on it he is beating anyone in the current draw
I still he has a chance at title. He’s in contention but should be interesting 2 weeks.

Yes 1 match at a time. The Clay is a big hurdle. 1 match at a time till the SF, then if Alcaraz reaches SF then his biggest hurdle to beat him, if he beats Charlie then he will be 90-95% lock to win the title.... long way to go.

Yes, if he makes the final, that means he has passed the Alcaraz challenge in one way or another, and will be the massive fav in the final over anyone who comes from the other side.

Ideally I would like both Alcaraz and Rune to be taken out by someone :p before SF, but unlikely that will happen. I trust Novak to beat Tsitsipas & Medvedev for sure. Rune will also be inexperienced if he reaches the final but Novak shall be tired as well if he beats Alcaraz, which is an IF at this stage, Alcaraz is really strong among the youngsters. SF will be a blockbuster match.

Lets face it, Djokovic v Alcaraz is THE match that everyone is looking at it.

God, why are we forced to watch such a boring straight forward match when so many juicy matches like Shapovalov/Nakashima are happening?

Djokovic is playing a 24 year old who's never even played in the main draw of a slam before. This is boring.

Yup, it should have been the final.

but I guess it is good to face him in the SF than in F, Novak shall be fresher in the SF to give it his best shot. QF would have been best but the seeding doesnt allow that

The next two weeks are going to be off the chain....will they face each other? We are going to find out. Djokovic is showing good form already, we will need to see if Alcaraz can do the same.

Lil Diego Schwartzman meanwhile fought from 2 sets to love down to win in an epic 5 setter.

Shapovalov led 2 sets to love but lost the next 2 sets but just finished his thriller match.

Yet Channel 9 in Australia forces me to watch this Djokovic match. I expect a bagel from Novak in the 3rd set to end this crap.

I feel it might be better for Novak to get Carlos in semi than final for the same reasons you say. Will have more energy for it as he be fresher should they both get there.

If Novak wins this tournament then CYGS will be on the cards.
Oh s**t here we go again
