Fokina the big favourite coming into this one. Looked indomitable this tournament and has beaten Novak on clay recently. Dead conditions will really benefit his defensive game and the live arm he has.

Only question: is he up to the task mentally? He regularly chokes ends of sets. Djokovic will win if he is not at his sharpest between the ears.

I think mentally he won't be prepared.

Carlos is playing at 7th gear. He hasn't even gone into 6th gear yet. Meanwhile Djokovic was playing at 1st gear and still had a whole lot of trouble with a journeyman 82 ranked bum. Carlos' name is on the trophy. The tournament is his!

If Djokovic hits the ball like he did the last two sets I don't see what Fokina can do tbh. Hard to live with him when his ballstriking is like that, and he is getting in form.

Another overhyped dude that barely wins 50% of his matches is now gonna beat the goat in bof5 at Rg? Gimme a break.

This could go a lot of ways.

Djokovic is still yet not to drop a set in a GS win, and this seems like the opponent he could lose a set to.

However, he's looked good enough the first two rounds, so that he shouldn't have any big issue here.

It should be a 4 set match.
ADF should put up much more resistance than Fucsovics.
3 and a half hours minimum of play.
:D

If he is mentally in the right place, and is patient he can trouble Djokovic.
I believe the chances that the match goes to a 4th set are high, but not so much to 5. But if the match is long and goes to 5 sets, I like Fokina's chances.

Yeah. Just hoping for Novak to be competitive here. Fokina the favourite now on the clay.
Yeah at this stage in their careers the 23 year old clay specialist should be beating the 36 year old. It just gets turned into the opposite because of what Djokovic once was, not what he currently is.

Fokina has the confidence of a win over a similar Djokovic last year, he has a powerful serve, a great BH, amazing athleticism too. He will be a very tough player to solve for the Serb and he has a distinct power and fast-twitch advantage. His defense especially is incredible.

If he can’t win it really says it all about the standard of tennis today. Djokovic is not that good this clay season.

You can't compare a Djokovic 5 months apart from competition and bullied by the world that time vs 22 time slam champion and proud in a slam 3R.

Don't give too much importance to that in larger scheme of things useless event for Djokovic. He is well rested and hopefully physically fit.

If Djokovic is physically fit even at this age he is big favorite.

Fokina has a really, really good BH and it’s showing so far. Djokovic hates players with an elite left side.

I think you guys will be surprised.
