Do you think an iron man suit would be allowed in a tennis match today? Obviously not so why bring up this ridiculous example?
I'm using an extreme example to show how shallow I think your only the rules matter attitude is. We can just agree to disagree at this point. This is clearly going nowhere.

21 pages seems like a lot for a 3R match? Then again it went more than 3.5 hours and had other off tennis discussions.

the rules are not perfect but they would certainly apply to your extreme example. And that‘s my point. Not sure why you thought using a legal device could ever be equated to your extreme example.

There is no doubt he’s box office entertainment!
I mean, how many of these posts are making fun of him for thinking that taping a watch battery to his chest is actually helping him?

Ok well I guess you and I just differ on the rules being everything.
That's the problem. That's why there are so many people out there willing to cheat. People like that guy that either can't, or don't want to, understand the nuances of ethics and sportsmanship.

It’s not just rules. both the letter and the spirit of the law (or tennis rules in this case) allow players to find tech and training that can improve their results, even if the rest of the tour doesn’t have access to them. That’s why no one thinks that Fed or Nadal flying in a private plane with their trainer and physio is perfectly Ok, even if it gives them clear advantages over the 99% of players that can only dream of ever having such advantage.
At some point autologous blood transfusions weren’t illegal in sports, but they seem pretty clearly to me to be against the spirit of the game. What the makers of this device claim it can do seems at least somewhat analogous - both are a way of artificially capturing some form of energy produced by the body, then transferring it back into the body to avoid natural rates of depletion. If it’s not illegal it’s only because it’s BS, but if someone creates something that DOES actually do that, it seems like an obvious thing to ban.

If Novak hired a nutritionist that discovered that eating fruits in a certain order had the same effect of transferring energy back to the body would anyone think that this was unsportsmanlike? I don’t think so.

All the bad analogies in the world aren't going to help your argument. Why can't you see that?

Cool response, bro. How many times do multiple people have to tell you the same thing?
Repeating the same wrong argument doesn’t change the fact it’s a dumb argument

Once again THERE IS NOTHING REMOTELY UNSPORTSMANLIKE about using a perfectly legal readily available device. if Novak thinks it helps him, good for him.

As others have stated, you are a lost cause.
