Sakkari already lost R1 at RG and at WB this year. My goodness.
Could you please flesh out your idle speculation? Non-TTW links etc. ???Masarova is jacked as **** no surprise. When Sakkari can’t completely outmuscle her opponent it’s a struggle for her these days
what?Could you please flesh out your idle speculation? Non-TTW links etc. ???
Sak, sure I could see that, but Masa?
Could you please explain what you meant when you said:what?
jacked just means muscular, strong, physically imposing - which is also Sakkari's main source of strength at the momentCould you please explain what you meant when you said:

I don't understand that and I'm sure others don't as well.
I don't know....with that zebra skirt, she was trying to hypnotize her opponent.jacked just means muscular, strong, physically imposing - which is also Sakkari's main source of strength at the moment
Yeah I was just going to post about this. I tuned in just for a few games now.Collins is just too much power/speed for Linda. Overpowered for much of the match so far. A lot of tactics that normally works in the ITF tourney just doesn't work against many of the WTA players - such as the moonballing strategy. Danni had no problems with those balls and even hitting winners off them. Continuous pressure from Dani's power making Linda constantly on the defensive.
Dani leading3-0. 5-0
If it just means muscular I'm OK with that.jacked just means muscular, strong, physically imposing - which is also Sakkari's main source of strength at the moment
The interesting thing that I didn't know until during the post-match interview was that Collins lost to Linda just earlier this year in Dubai. What has changed? Dani gave a lot of credit to her coach - Jared Jacobs. Don't know since when.Yeah I was just going to post about this. I tuned in just for a few games now.
Collins is currently a bad matchup for Fruity1.
As you say, just too much power.
Fruity1 has a pleasing, all-round game, but just lacks the power to keep up with an in-form Collins.
I suspect Giorgi would give Fruity1 similar problems now.
But I am holding out hope for Fruity1 because I like her game.
If she can somehow manage to increase her power (training/technique etc.)
she might be able to one day give trouble to these big-hitting babes.
I've too have noticed she's mellowing a bit with the histrionics. She has a go for broke style. I like her.The interesting thing that I didn't know until during the post-match interview was that Collins lost to Linda just earlier this year in Dubai. What has changed? Is it just me noticing, seems like Dani has toned down her on-court grunts, confrontations, etc - and just calmly play and more focused. When she's on, she's a very dangerous player to play against. Just have 2 speeds: hit hard and harder. Plays the same whether she's down or winning at 5-0.
What a strange view. She has been all over the place the whole year and the most inconsistent of the top 10(-20)players along with Kasatkina. What happened to Kudermetova? She had an excellent year until recently...
Despite being Russian, Rybakina plays for Khazakhstan. Sabalenka plays for Belarus, which has not directly attacked Ukraine but aids Russia against Ukraine by allowing Russia to stage attacks from Belarussian soil. Anyway, Rybakina's 6-2, 6-1 win was nice although the match was a bit closer than the score indicated. What a strange view. Kostyuk granted Rybakina a handshake after getting beaten by her!?? How come? Rybakina is a Russian so theoretically one of the people attacking her country, Sabalenka is not from a country that is attacking her country and has clearly pointed out that she is definitely not supporting that attack but she don't get her handshake?
The match was of a very decent quality. Rybakina was not pressing, and her 1st serves were at a decent % so if she keeps the level up, she’s going to do well.Despite being Russian, Rybakina plays for Khazakhstan. Poor girl. Something has gotta change. She works too hard for these 1R match losses. My god, Sakkari cried in her press conference. Heartbreaking.
Yeah something is off. I saw the score while driving back. What happened to Kudermetova? She had an excellent year until recently...
Maybe the prime minister's son is no longer in the picture.Oh my gosh, Maria Sakkari.
Kind of surprised Hsieh and Strycova aren't teaming up here since they won Wimbledon together and have a long history. Instead Hsieh's going with her Roland Garros-winning partner, Wang Xinyu. Hsieh/Wang are in Gauff/Pegula's quarter of the draw. Strycova/Vondrousova could meet Krejcikova/Siniakova in the second round.Strycova/Vondrousova a very fun pairing in the doubles.
Vondrousova the Wimbledon champ in singles while Strycova was the doubles champ (along with Hsieh).
It is one of the bigger courts, I didn't say it weas the biggest.Armstrong isn't 'the big court'.
Thanks for Udvardy trivia.^^ Your hope came reality.
I don't understand that older Udvardy (that has a very kind of naughty name in my language! ) , for once she was given the chance to win - usually she plays so poorly throughout the match that opponent doesn't have to do much to beat her. But even though I've read she is psychology student, she totally freezes in the big points?!?
