This would be a massive blow to Coco, if she loses this one. Still early days, but not looking routine at all.

I don't think she'll actually lose, but it would be quite funny if Gauff crashed out 1R after getting hyped up more than ever for this major.

Mike Tyson at Coco's match.

Siegemund is crafty/junky. I like it.

Coco needs to get over the despondent reaction. She gets too upset when she does something wrong or her opponent does something good.

Siegemund going OFF.

Two forehand slices in a row - I haven't seen that in a long time. She's probably already done that in this match, but I started watching during that long first game of the second set.

The WTA draw will be out tomorrow at noon for the 2023 U.S. Open and a link to it will be added soon after.
If you pick ‘OTHER’ in the poll please let us know who you think will win in the thread.

Here's the link to the draw as promised.

This thread is for both singles and doubles WTA matches!

Once again none of my faves are in the poll for the singles. But I do like Ryba, Vondrousova
and Gauff (now). Sabalenka is stabilizing as a player. I don’t know if she will
ever get her head completely straightened out. But her overall game is much better
now than it was a couple of years ago.
My favorite player is Rybakina, but I have to pick Swiatek, the way that she is playing. I would pcik them as finalists, except I think they are in the same half. Otherwise, I pick Sabalenka. Gauff is in a third set now with Seigemund.
