you think its so easy ? he is arrogant as many successful players and wouldn't do anything he don't want to do like staying closer to a baseline or create a better net game ... also look at a bigger picture ... with his game he can handle in the top 5 10 for many years if he start to change his game that would erase a year or more so its taught to ask when every year can cost millions of dollars and he isn't young anymore it might be a bit to late to change something what you don't have .Players like Federer had all the tools at the beginning and then only develop a better versions of it ... Medvedev doesn't had those tools and he became number one without them so its already an accomplishment

I doubt it, they were breaking the record at the time of their 21 or 23, but there was clearly an ongoing race among them, unlike now, Djokovic is making history with every win, it's very hard to even catch up with him or break his record.

Wasn't comfortable at all at times since that serve's consistency is still in the dumps. The slice serve on deuce side really made up for it however.
Might have been his finest approach to a match against Medvedev so far, and the execution was perfect for the first set and a half. The remainder felt neck and neck, and some of these freakish flat low balls from Daniil that changed the rally dynamics were absolutely stunning. No need to remind about the incredible defensive scrambling skills that rewarded him on plenty of points as well.
Welcome back to the grand stage, Mad Lad. Hopefully this is a sign of better days ahead. And the indoor season is around the corner... Perhaps it's time to start a new cycle and win some of the events for a second time.
As for the champion, what else to say. This has been a year where the Squirmovic brigade have intensified with their embarrassing actions even more, while we can't stop hearing about a certain future ATG/double digit Slam winner who won't be letting Djokovic any more glory.
Yet this guy at 36 years of age was quite possibly just one well executed forehand drive away from turning me into the CYGS prophet. Not a big deal, especially as his return to Australia and America were perfect. But perhaps it's finally time to accept the fact that he is the most stunning player there ever will be...

So Djokovic gets perfect revenge for 2021 by returning the favour and beating Medvedev in straights at the US Open final.
With 24 Slams he has now equalled the all-time record of Margaret Court (and with the Australian Open just a few months away has the perfect opportunity to surpass her) and is steadily moving away from his former Big 3 peers in the Slam count. One feels he will pretty soon be in a league all of his own!
Fun factoid: Djokovic beat Medvedev by the exact same scoreline he beat Del Potro in the 2018 final ie. 6-3,7-6,6-3!

Did he look inspired in final to you? Or may be I was wrong. Djoko doesn't even need play inspired Tennis to beat Med !

He looked the opposite of inspired the first two sets. Looked like he wanted be anywhere else but the court by the end of the 2nd. But yes, it turns out Medvedev really was that bad.

That’s not up to date, believe me
Here is the summary. They started well. Both had strong, powerful rallies; Djokovic had less power than Medvedev but could return all. Med barely misses and returns strong. However, his height is his weakness. Generally, longer rallies went to Med. Novak started really strong in the first set. In the second set, Novak was doing okay, but that long game with several deuces in the second set when Med held was pretty crucial, and then the one after, when Novak barely kept his serve too. The tiebreak could have gone either way, tbh. Errors from both. Novak is clutch, no question there.
It was clear in the third set that the awkwardness that comes with Daniil's height is his weakness; he gets to just about everything but is awkward in his movement simply because that is how he is, he is tall. Med tried in the third, but he was definitely feeling down and the fight was not there. Crowd was very pro Djokovic.

Same here. If Djokovic goes out of a slam early or doesn’t play one then I hope Meddy wins. He’s a class act he’s been unfortunate to run into djokodal in all of his slam finals! I hope he wins more. Both Djokovic and Meddy have a great relationship.
I'll give you 6'3 but there isn't a 2 inch difference between him and Djoker.

Med's super deep return position really hurt him this match. Made Novak look like Edberg today. He had his chances to win the second set, but Novak was just more clutch.

Watching replay on T.C. Point of the match. 4-3 Med in 2nd set. Djokovic serving. Med has break point. Hits a backhand down the line, almost certainly the break. Djokovic hits an unbelievable half volley winner. Clips the net for a winner on the next point. Med later volleys into the net and its 4-4, instead of 5-3 and Med serving for the 2nd set.

The interesting thing is that if Medvedev wins a second USO title on Sunday, he would only need 1 more USO title to equal Djoker's entire USO haul despite being nearly a decade younger.
You sure were very confident about this! Then MadLad got straight-setted.Medvedev conquered his demons at the USO. He went in with back to back losses against De Minaur and blew him off the court.
He went in with multiple losses to Alcaraz and took his soul.
Now he will hand Djokovic a 7th silver plate on Sunday!

I'm very happy that Djokovic won, but I'm not with my fellow Djokovic fans who rub it in. Novak keeps growing the distance between him and his rivals, but Federer and Nadal are easily two of the greatest players of all time and his immense rivals who fueled the changes in his game that made Djokovic improve. He wouldn't be the player he is today without them and they should be respected.Words can't describe how ecstatic I am right now and knowing how much Fedal fans will be hurting makes it taste all the more sweet haha.

Fedal did not improve Novak as he has stated he wants to win as many slams as possible
and if Fedal did not exist, he would have 30 + or even more vs mental midget baseline trolls.
Fedal both had the game and minds to upset Novaks game and anybody else under the ATG3.
There is no question any of the ATG3 would have 25 slams minimum with 2 missing in the equation.
Fed would have at least 10 wimbys if it wasnt for the homogenization of the game from 2001.
So far the grand total is....
24+22+20= 66 now just needs Rafa to help Nole keep the tally going!

I think everyone on here was confused about Medvedev's tactics today. I didn't understand what he was doing. And now he himself says that he should've adjusted his return position instead of camping 20 feet back and giving Djokovic easy putaways. Oh well!
Djokovic is awesome. No doubt about it. That second set was really tense and exciting. Looking forward to Melbourne.

Absolutely not, Meddy wasted his very first service game and it was only later in the first set that he kind of stabilized (or Djokovic´s level dropped a little). Anyhow, the first set was gone. I suppose most of us agree that the 2nd set tie-break was decisive for the match. It was clearly winnable for Meddy, but he just couldn´t find his A+ game in the crucial moments - and he stupidly found no solution for the S+V stuff Djokovic was playing again and again. I would have hoped for more resistance in the 3rd set, but Meddy was already mentally and/or physically drained. And he still had no idea how to deal with the S+V attacks, which was in fact a ridiculous tactical disaster.
