So folks, here we go, this is by far the clash of the tournament until this stage. The winner could potentially face Alcaraz in the Quarters.

A role reversal of sorts from 2 years ago when they played each other at USO, Sinner was the up & coming player while Zverev was the established top5 player, whereas coming into this match, its the German who's been on a comeback trail.

Both have been through a tough match, Zverev against Dimitrov could've been 2-0 down in sets, whereas Sinner could be 2-1 down against Wawrinka.

Zverev leads the H2H by 3-1 but they're tied at 1-1 at slam level, with Sinner having won the 2020 RG match in 4 sets and Zverev with the upper hand in 3 sets at the 2021 USO match.

Whom do you pick for the win? How many sets would it go? Vote and discuss here, dudes and dudettes.

Very tough match for both. I see Sinner in 4 tough sets though!
I’m actually happy they play each other. I know it’s a tough one for Sinner but seeing Zverev’s record against top tens in slams, Sinner should win. Also the big serving will allow him to do immaculate returning against Alcaraz putting pressure on him in every service game should they play in the QF

That’s true. Chicken legs needs a test before playing wonder boy.

If he wants to have a chance against Carlitos he needs to pass a test like this with flying colours.

Goldie chainz will be thinking the same though and he’s been slowly getting better each tournament this year after his injury.

This could easily go 5 but I feel chicken legs might just have the edge. Let’s see,

Yes and the big serving will allow Sinner to return Alcaraz serves with ease. Similar to how he played Isner the round before their fourth round match at Wimbledon and Sinner was eating Alcaraz’s serves alive

I really think Sinner is due a breakthrough. Some tight 5 set losses to Tsitsipas, Djokovic and Alcaraz and I think it’s time he breaks through and makes a final. Even if he were to make the final and lose it will give him more motivation to push for slam wins

Doesn't matter ,Z's peak is far higher than Sinner. Z has everything for modern baseline play except brain.
I’ll come back to this when in 2 years Sinner reaches world number 1 and has a couple slams, similar to how Djokovic broke the glass ceiling and dominated in 2011

Good days are always in future. Doesn't matter , Z has beaten better versions of Big 3 in BO3 while Sinner has been their bunny .

If Wawrinka can take 1 set, Zverev can take 2.

But at the end I think Sinner will prevail.

Regardless of the number of sets, Sinner wins the match.

Shelton is more than an year younger and is rising quick, Rune is already ranked higher above Sinner and he is 2 years younger. Sinner is 22 now, the next 2-3 years if he doesn't win a slam then the window closes for him as guys better than him are younger. Also 21-23 is the age when lot of guys in his age group will hit their prime, so while you might be laughing at Shelton now, in future he could be a pain in the ass for Sinner. Rune already has a 2-0 H2H on Sinner, you think that won't become better? Then again Alcaraz is already ahead of him, he has to be dethroned first for anyone to become 1.

Sinner will never be as good as the Big 3 obviously.. No one will but he can have a career on par with theirs

He cannot because for that he will have to beat next gens in the distant future with superior athleticism. It is not gonna happen.

As I predicted once, Alcaraz is the first of the modern day greats to emerge, bigger beasts are on their way, today we are in a 01-03 type phase where a new era has begun and beasts are on their way.

Well.. That remains to be seen. All I see for the past decade are mug loser gens and lack of talent and desire. . So until it happens....

Zverev's SF run lost against Novak with a win against Meddy was more impressive than Sinner's first 1000 title 250-level win.

Z in 4.

Sinner won't reach number 1.

Alcaraz
Rune
Ben Shelton

These 3 guys will be ranked above Sinner in 2025 and beyond, wait and watch.

Sinner is a modern day Berdych
Well, the last two need to put the **** together in their brains yet.

OP earned my respect for making this thread, I was surprised this thread was made so late when it's a big match

Said Sinner in 5, because think it is gonna be a bit of LONG test but made out of SHORT points...

The Zed-rod is hotted up going into this and so long as his serve is on...

Nevertheless, think Sinner wins the returns and the rallies and the long game...

(Unsure why he always gets the Berdych comparisons, is it because he is skinny? His BH? Certainly not his FH?)

Zverev isn’t what he used to be. Sinner in 4.
I don't agree at all, first 2 sets with peak Dimitrov were amazing. Zverev is in very good shape. I'd say he'd win in 4 if it wasn't for his history of playing against top10 in slams. So anything can happen.

Zverev to take a quick 2 sets lead. Choke hard after leading in the 3rd like usual but come back and win the 4th because Sinner will have one extremely error filled game that gifts the break that not even peak Zverev can ignore.

I think Chicken legs is the more solid of the 2 right now. Goldie Chainz will have his chances but I see chicken legs winning the big points tonight. Looking forward to this though as it could the match of the tournament so far. Let’s hope they both turn up with their best game.
