I'd love for Med to make Wimbledon final but I'm realistic. This is a bad matchup for him.

Power players will always trouble Med anywhere and Karl is a power player with much talent. So Karl in 4 and I wouldn't be surprised if it's over in 3.

I just wish we had another Sinncraz classic instead :(

Carlos should win this pretty easily, he can expose Med's ridiculous ROS stance from planet Mars.
Medvedev in 4-5 sets with Eubanks stopped receiving from Mars. If he isn't completely stupid, then against Alcaraz he will continue like this too. Medvedev is very good at serve right now and I feel Alcaraz will have a hard time with that.

This is one of those matches where Medvedev can just blow Alcaraz out the water with his serve and flat groundies. Medvedev is always a dangerous opponent. And he is a slam champion as well.

This is gonna be that match where Medvedev how ****ing lucky he was Djokovic was tired, injured and choking that one time.

Lots of different takes on this here. But Medvedev is not the kind of player whom I was expecting to cause Alcaraz the biggest problems, given that he is not exactly a grass specialist himself. He is a smart guy and will surely mix things up, and yes I would hope / expect that he will play closer to the baseline so he won't be dropshotted to death. I just think Alcaraz is the clear favourite; his main weakness at Wimbledon is that he is not yet a natural mover on grass and still learning how to play on the surface. But I don't think Medvedev, who doesn't have the best relationship with grass himself, is the one to exploit this.

Could be completely wrong, but I think Alcaraz in 4, possibly in 3.

Alcaraz can win this reasonably efficiently I think; he needs to stay committed to coming in behind his serve and take some notes from Eubanks who showed some nice grass court tennis. Carlos has all the right tools for this matchup and fresh legs. That said, Medvedev is too good to discount and a clinic in big serving that never allows Alcaraz to settle into the match would not be totally unexpected.

If Medvedev plays like he did in the 2nd and 3rd set against Eubanks than Carlos will take it in 3 easy. If Med plays like he did against Djokovic when he won the US Open I could see it going 5. He's gotta play aggressive and serve big. If he doesn't and Carlos continues to play like he has then I think Carlos takes it in 3.

Medvedev's playing style plays too much into the hands of Alcaraz. It was good for Alcaraz that he faced Jarry and Berrettini, 2 players with monstrous serves and he handled it very well. Medvedev doesn't serve as good and doesn't have that killer forehand.

Forecast also shows its going to be a rainy day and a potential closed roof. That slows the conditions even further and works against Medvedev

I don't agree with the poll, I did pick Carlos in 5 but the lopsided nature of the voting is ridiculous given that Medvedev is a top top player with a slam under his belt.

I'd put this match at 55-45 in favour of Carlos not the ridiculous 85-15 that many make it out to be.

I would agree. Also Carlos gets nervous, which was clear in the first set of the Rune match. He can’t afford to play like he did in that set against Med.

Carlos should win this fairly comfortably, all things considered. Don't see anything in Med's game that should trouble him. He should be taking the Next Gen apart at this stage with only Djokovic being an issue.
