There we go! Nicely done. He will learn from the clowning (I hope). I am guessing he is making a concerted effort to play more loosely, but he was a little too loose there. He needs to find the happy medium between tense and loose. And he needs to use his touch shots as SECONDARY weapons, not PRIMARY weapons. He needs to lean on his power FH more as a primary weapon and only use his touch as a complement to his FH.

Well done Carlos Alcaraz - on to the Men's Wimbledon Final - 6-3; 6-3; 6-3.....what a way to close it out.

And now, it's on to Novak Djokovic.....THAT will be off the chain!

Will Carlitos be able to top what Nadal did at Wimbledon 2006 and defeat the favorite on Sunday?
:D

Agree. Honestly, Medvedev's return isn't great. He puts the ball in play, but not with great interest (unless the server really sucks). Medvedev depends on his movement to bail him out of his return game.

Djokovic doesn't have that problem.
Once he loses a step in 2-3 years, it won't look pretty.

The only reason Sinner and Med even made it to the semi is the terrible mug level draw they had to the semi.
Medvedev is so overrated my God. Thank God he’s rightfully been torn apart by Raz. This guy would not be top 5 in another era. How he won a slam is beyond me. Lucky lucky.

Great performance by Alcaraz.
I just hope he gives some sort of a fight on Sunday.
Just don't cramp. Even if he loses in 4 - it's fine. But going down in straight sets to Novak would be terrible for his confidence IMO.
And honestly, I don't think he will beat Novak. Novak's big match mentality is bigger than anyone else and Alcaraz isn't ready yet.

I didn't see either semi-final.
I watched the Hsieh match and then went out to play tennis.
Did I miss anything exciting except for the Raz-Med match point?

My concern for Medvedev is that he has not been holding serve enough.

Eubanks broke him 3 times and every opponent apart from Lehecka broke him at least once. 3 out of 5 opponents broke him multiple times.

Alcaraz was able to break Jarry and Berrettini multiple times, so I think he can do the same against Medvedev.
This was pretty much the match. Medvedev served low % today (59% first serve), had no +1 game to punish the serves Alcaraz returned, and couldn't defend his 2nd serve on the slick grass.

You can't get broken 6 times in 3 sets on a grass court.

alcaraz is improving nicely on grass. very impressive and he's only 20. Medvedev's worst surface was so evident today. He was totally rattled and his normal game style of returning from the parking lot didn't work.

Medvedev really **** the bed here... Should have captialized in the third but just couldn't hold to save his life... Also didn't help that he had his worst serving day in his campaign so far today

One thing I'm really pissed off is the fact there was no effort even to move forward on returns... But alas Alcaraz was too good today

Hopefully we get a good final

Carlos plays in three dimensions.

Compare with Sinner who goes left/right almost exclusively. Alcaraz is far better at capitalising on any advantage he gains in points by finishing at the net on grass. He’s not Federer, maybe more like Nadal in that regard.

honestly, i see much probable he cramps again than he loses, losing in straights is just an imposibility, i mean if that happens i could even accept to tatto novaks smiley face on my ass, i expect nolefam to come hard at me if he loses because i will deserve it and i would do no less, but if alcaraz wins, everybody deep down will finally see and accept that playing the game the right way, going for your shots, being creative, playing all court, is in essence the best way to play tennis if you have the talent for it, superior shot making from the choosen one will dismantle the percentage taylored tennis from an in fact not very creative player and put down all this farce, tennis has been in a bit of a bucle with the style novak has developed, alcaraz is just about to give back the balance to the force, i mean man, you come from sampras era, i cant even understand you support novaks tenis over alcarazs, well i imagine, many disapointments from mediocre players like shapovalov and such, have made you accept novak as the ultimate and unavoidable faith, but dont worry man, its not late for you, deep inside you know the truth, alcaraz will rescue you and many more on sunday, and we can put an end to this painful era of our tennis lives.
