I mean, it literally was close. 1 break in set 1, 1 break in 2 set, and Sinner with chances to break back in both of them. Had a minibreak in the third given back with a double fault. The match was literally defined by a handful of points.

Lol come on man. I never thought djokovic was in trouble. That was a mugfest by sinner.

I agree with people saying that Sinner is not like Rune and Alcaraz. Don't know if they would've won, but they would've taken advantage of some of opportunities that Djokovic would've given them.

Sinner should be out of the conversation.

I only saw 2 passages of play, a couple of games at the beginning of set 2 (I think), and also the tie break. Funnily enough, Sinner made the exact same error in both passages; open court available to finish off the point yet strangely hit down the middle...

The last three points of the tie break were just mug level tennis.

Man, seem like no one can beat Djokovic if Alcaraz can't do it. Sinner definitely needs more time to develop before the hype train starts again. He also needs to hit the gym or else he will never get there no matter how much his game improves.

It is what Rublev said it is just that in the defining moments of the match Novak plays where more solid than his opponents who tend to tighten whereas he locks down 9 times out of 10.

Peak Hewitt would beat both in straights today on the same day.
Hewitt finished with this same scoreline against 2005 Fed with a break in between, while Jannik couldn't even break 36 year old Djokovic's serve.

And people wonder why we call this the worst grass field ever.

2hrs 47 minutes, I think that was exactly the same length of time as his quarterfinal match. Unbelievable that Djokovic managed to win that in straight sets given how well Sinner's been playing.

Kudos to Sinner making his first SF, even if the draw sort of opened up. But this was pretty bad at times. Losing to Novak is no sin, but he really go tight ever time it mattered.

How well Sinner's been playing? Maybe it's cause of who he faced lol ;)

1R: #111 Cerundolo
2R: #98 Schwartzman
3R: #79 Halys
4R: #85 Galan
QF: #92 Safiullin

Even with that insanely easy draw, he still managed to have dropped sets

Egg is a guy who tends to give clear cut answers but lol @ him completely giving a non-sensical answer to whether he's playing his best tennis ever
